Why do you love the classes you do?

Look, maybe I’m wrong and you don’t particularly care for any classes in World of Warcraft. If so, I’m sorry. It’s 2018, I have loved Warriors since 2004, and it’s been awesome. We’re awesome. Warriors are just the best, y’all, I don’t even know. But it’s my job to at least try to know, so here goes.

One of the things I’ve loved forever about this class is that it’s the everyman class. There’s no order of secretive nature magicians or Kirin Tor telling you if you’re a Warrior or not. No Silver Hand binding us together. Half the time, you see another Warrior, you immediately try and kill that guy. That’s us. We’re everywhere, in every race. There are Gnomes wielding big two handed weapons in each hand, and Tauren behind shields the size of a Chrysler. The only gauge of your membership in the Warrior class is stepping up and being one. No one bestows it on you, you don’t learn it from befriending animals or the wilderness, you don’t drink fel koolaid or eat demon hearts or make a demon your best friend.

But many players enjoy their classes because of those things. I’m not here to judge, I’m here to celebrate. Like Death Knights, they’re something unique and cool. I enjoy them for completely different reasons. I love calling up an army of corpses to do my bidding or blighting the land around me with my power. It’s a cool and unique take on the idea of a dark necromancer archetype. Plus the Ebon Blade are a fascinating group of ladies and not so gentlemen.

So what about you? What do you love about your Paladin? What gets you excited about your Shaman? Why do you love your Rogue? And yeah, I left out a lot of classes, there’s like twelve of them. Let me just say that Monks and Mages and Druids and Warlocks and Hunters and Demon Hunters and Priests are all cool too. Tell me about yours. Why do you love the classes you love?
