The Queue: Dadghar and the dead girl

Welcome back to The Queue, our daily Q&A feature for all of Blizzard’s games! Have a question for the Blizzard Watch staff? Leave it in the comments!

I didn’t realize the Warlords garrison perpetually updated with Battle Pets after the expansion was over, so imagine my surprise to find Khadgar’s disembodied head and Uuna just strolling along without a care in the world. Or, well, floating along in Khadgar’s case. Either way, Dadghar and the Dead Girl sounds like an amazing title for a Saturday morning cartoon. Uuna gets into mischief, Khadgar tries to keep her out of it, but he has no corporeal body. Hijinks ensue.

MOVEWOW ASKED:

This may have been answered many times now, If I just unlocked the Heritage armor on my highmountain tauren hunter do I get the set on other highmountain tauren plate or leather wearers I create?

Yep! The Heritage armor sets are cosmetic, they don’t require a specific armor class. Once you’ve unlocked the Heritage set on an Allied Race character, it’ll be unlocked on all future characters you create for that particular Allied Race.

MELISSA BOZ ASKED:

Aren’t Anduin and Baine friends? It’s really hard to see Baine being okay with a lot of what’s going on. I haven’t finished the new book yet though.

Without going into spoilers, yes they are friends — I don’t think they’ll ever stop thinking of each other as friends. They share a pretty deep bond, and that connection is something that Varian never really had with the Horde. Whether or not that will have any effect on events in the future is unknown, but I doubt there will ever be a day where Anduin suddenly turns on Baine, or vice versa.

SAUROHIR ASKED:

Q4TQ, is Anduin Lothar officially the Great Uncle of King Anduin Wrynn? Meaning Anduin Wrynn is the last of the line of Lothar? If so, that’s a pretty big deal and no in-game character seems to make reference to it. Hope it comes into play in the future.

Soooooooort of. In the Warcraft movie, it was revealed that Varian’s mother, Taria, was actually Anduin Lothar’s sister. However, that’s movie universe, and movie canon. There are certain points where the Warcraft movie canon deviates from game canon, just like how some of the Marvel movies out there take a slightly different path than the thousands of Marvel comics out there. If we go by movie canon, then yes, Lothar would be Anduin’s great-uncle.

However, while Taria was mentioned in World of Warcraft Chronicle Volume 2, there was no mention made of her relation (or lack thereof) to Anduin Lothar. So Taria does exist in both game canon and movie canon, that’s been fully established. But whether or not she’s Lothar’s sister isn’t confirmed or denied as far as the game canon goes. If Blizzard wanted to make it happen, they could — they’ve left the door wide-open for it, if they feel it’s necessary.

ERIK MICHAEL MARTINEZ ASKED:

Q4TQ: Will you return to your order hall with some characters? I will at least with my Warlock and Druid. And the Monk. They are just such cool areas that have so much more personality and feel more like a genuine hang out spot than the garrison ever did.

I think I may take my Rogue back to the old Order Hall every now and again, just because it’s a nice place to get away, and it has a Black Market Auction House representative smack in the middle of it. Having said that, I’ve probably sealed the fate of said Black Market Auction House representative, and they won’t actually be present in Battle for Azeroth.

I have beta — let’s go check!

Well she’s still there right now, anyway. Point still stands — I like the Rogue order hall. Yes, it’s in a sewer, but it’s quiet and out of the way. I don’t think I’ll make regular jaunts out to the place or anything, especially not while I’m busy leveling, but I don’t think I’m going to say goodbye to the place forever, either.

Besides, those order halls are pretty good spots for class-based RP, and I don’t think they’ll ever stop being that, you know?

DEFIANT ASKED:

Q4TQ: Just saw on Wowhead they are nerfing the ever living Naaru out of Bonus Rolls in BFA… I know I heard a LONG time ago that there was such a thing called ‘Bad Luck Protection’… but since I haven’t heard of it in a long time… I wanted to ask if there still is such a thing… bc I have bad luck on rolls and I don’t relish not getting a weapon to drop for months on end..

Bad Luck Protection is, to my knowledge, still alive and kicking. All it means is that if you bonus roll and don’t get any loot, your chances of getting loot next time around are slightly increased. It’ll carry over until you actually get some loot, and then it’ll reset. It’s not a guarantee you’re going to get the exact piece of loot you wanted, it’s just an increased chance at getting a random piece from the boss’s loot table.

But I wouldn’t call the Bonus Roll changes in Battle for Azeroth that severe of a nerf. We can only purchase two coins a week instead of three, and we can only carry five of them at a time, instead of six. Yes, the cost of purchasing coins has been increased — but you also have to look at how much more gold we’ve been making as we approach the end of the expansion. I’ll happily drop 3k gold on a couple of tokens right now, because I know I can make that up with one Order Hall gold mission. A thousand gold is nothing.

With that in mind, I’m also pretty sure Blizzard is keeping an eye on that system, and if they feel like we could use more coins, they’ll up that limit. They did that sort of thing back in Mists of Pandaria, so it’s not exactly unheard of.

ARCHMAGE RC ASKED:

q4tq: Are elf eyebrows like cat whiskers? Do they help elves determine if they’ll fit through small places?

I don’t think so (I don’t think Blizzard’s ever gone into a full breakdown of racial anatomy anywhere…ever), but kudos on the really, really weird mental picture that conjured up. I’m pretty sure most elves are smart enough to figure out whether or not they’ll fit in a cramped space without having to stick their face in it first.
