The Queue: Mistaking the Cardigans for the Cranberries

So it’s been a day, all told. Nothing y’all would care about, just life stuff. I woke up this morning convinced that the Cardigans wrote Linger, which is a Cranberries song.
Let’s talk Blizzard games, shall we?
So I’m looking over the ‘gaps’ in my toons, and for Horde I’m missing:
Mage
Monk
Paladin
Priest
Shaman.
I was thinking Nightborne Mage because I don’t have an Arcane mage anymore and I need to level a Nightborne to get the heritage armor (my other Nightborne was a race change warrior), and it just makes too much sense.
For Mag’har, I am leaning strongly towards Shaman. I got the Ele challenge appearance, and it would work well with the Dark Shaman mog (note to self: farm Dark Shaman mog tonight) as they’re both Orc-themed.
That leaves Monk, Paladin, and Priest for Zandalari troll. I know, Druid is tasty, but I’m leveling my Kul Tiran as Druid (the only class gap on Alliance side) so I’ll save a potential Zandalari Druid for later.
I’m leaning towards Shadow Priest because Loa, but at the same time Paladin is a strong choice since there aren’t many races that can be Pallies. Monk I’m not considering, because

Honestly? I’d go Shaman for the Zandalar, if you’re not going Druid. The Loa work as patrons for the Zandalar in much the same way that Ancestor spirits work for the Orcs, and a Zandalar Shaman throwing around elemental fury seems well in keeping with them.
This assumes you don’t go Paladin, which you really should. Zandalari Paladin seems like the best possible fit here, as they’ll have a lot of really specific lore and plus, Rezan will be your patron. You will be a Dinosaur Paladin.
Have you considered a Mag’har Monk? I think Punchy Orcs sound pretty awesome.
So I got a 340 helm off of an Arathi rare. I can’t use any of the Azerite abilities yet though. Is it still enough of a boost to be worth wearing, or do I use it to up my ilvl for queueing and then put my 300 helm back on.
Wear the 340 hat.
Trust me, the bonuses on your 300 hat are not good enough to make up the 40 ilevel difference.
I know this feels wrong — it felt wrong when it happened to me — but I quickly learned that yes, the big jump in ilevel is worth it.
Why is it that now that I know there is an XP change coming, all I want to do is level my other characters and not wait two weeks?
It is the way of things. I’m considering it myself. My Paladin needs to be leveled up.
I think it’s rooted in the anticipation of the thing and wanting to make best use of the change when it happens, but to be honest, human brains are weird finicky things and I don’t honestly know the answer. It’s just one of those things that happens — tell us something is coming and we start thinking about it and can’t get ourselves to stop. We start anticipating it.

I’m not sure if you mean your beard or mine. If you mean yours, congratulations. If you mean mine, it got pretty nuts over the weekend so I shaved it this morning.
Q4tQ: Are there any fishing updates coming in 8.1 Fishing feels like it’s taken a big step backward in BfA.
I honestly have no idea, I never fish, but I figured I’d put this in the Queue so people who do fish could answer it for you.
Do we know if there’s going to be a requirement to do the Darkshore quests (outside of being 120)?
At present I don’t believe they’ve announced anything for the questline that leads into the Warfront. The Warfront itself, I expect will have an ilevel component. I’d expect to see something around where the first Warfront is currently at, maybe a little higher.
