What feature from a previous WoW expansion do you want brought back to the game?
If there’s one thing people can agree on, it’s that WoW was best during The Burning Crusade.
Wait, what’s that? Not everyone thinks that? Okay, fine, but at least everyone can agree that it was best during Wrath, right?
…No? Well what abou-
All right, all right. I think you get the point. Even if people tend to have positive (or negative) feelings about a particular expansion, there are still plenty of people who disagree. If you ask enough people what their favorite expansion is, I’m sure it won’t take all that long to have every expansion covered as an answer. And if you ask event further, I’m sure people will find something that they loved about even their least-favorite expansion.
Every expansion changes a whole lot — some things for better and some for worse. It’s only natural that some players are going to love a very specific aspect of an expansion that’s no longer part of the game. For me, I absolutely loved the “mana battery” aspect of Shadow Priests during Burning Crusade. Was it entirely balanced? No! But did it make me feel like the most important person in the raid? Heck yeah, it did! And even though Blizzard made it more accessible and balanced in Wrath, I still like the BC version (for obvious reasons). If I could bring that back, I absolutely would.
Of course, there are features from other expansions I’d love to bring back. The weekly Valor Cap in Wrath wasn’t perfect, but I’d still take a cap like that over an infinite Azerite grind. And I absolutely love the fact that we got separate faction hubs in BFA, and I really wish that were being carried forward.
But hey, enough about me. If you could bring back an aspect of an old expansion, what would you bring back? Why would you bring it back? And as a bonus, is it a feature from an expansion you loved, or was it a hidden gem from an expansion you generally disliked?
