Good news! Fiendish Old God fans get to keep their Gift of N’Zoth

So you decided you like having an eyeball on your forehead.

I’m sure you have your reasons. Not good reasons, but the important part is, you have an eyeball on your head and an Old God in your heart, and that’s how you like it. Well, some of us have been losing our religion, to quote an REM song from decades ago because I like to keep it current, and they don’t like that at all. Not one bit. They signed up for the Eyeball Tiara squad and that’s where they want to stay, thank you very much. When people started noticing that the Gift of N’Zoth was vanishing they were upset.

But good news… for a certain value of those two words combined, anyway… if you kept your Gift of N’Zoth and you’re worried it’s going away, Kaivax has some words of reassurance for you.

Which is something I’ll never do.

So rejoice! If you were concerned that you wouldn’t look like a member of the Cheer Squad for Planetary Deliquescence, you need not fret. You may retain your gigantic piercing forehead orb and allow it to stare through you at the world around you, even as you walk the halls of power in whatever faction you pretend to serve, feeding all of their secrets and plans to the loathsome abomination you truly serve. And the folks at Wowhead have even found some additional dialog that will be whispered directly into your brain if you keep the thing on.

Not me, though. I didn’t do that quest on purpose because there’s no way I’m letting a jumped up steak knife trade me to Edgelord Squidlord in exchange for a killer set of gams. Y’all can be practicing whatever the Ny’alotha Cheer Squad does on away games — I’m going to assume there’s a whole lot of shambling and abhorrence involved, that seems to be N’Zoth’s whole deal — but I do think it’s pretty cool that there are extra whispers in this patch, and the fact that the Gift persists through patch 8.3 has me a bit worried. I mean, what does that say about our supposed victory? This is all deeply concerning. Maybe N’Zoth wants to die? Maybe he wants to go to the Shadowlands and take over there like he tried to with the Emerald Dream?

Lord, now y’all have me wondering if I should have taken the hat.
