To All the Squirrels I’ve Loved Before — The Love is back!

When it comes to achievements, I don’t necessarily enjoy having to do raid fights in a certain way, or running dungeons within a certain time limit. However, flying around the world and emoting /love to a specific set of critters? Sign me up! To All The Squirrels I’ve Loved Before had players travel all over Kalimdor and Eastern Kingdoms to show their appreciation of critters, and it offered no rewards except achievement points. There were subsequent achievements for Northrend, The Cataclysm-added zones, and Pandaria.

And then — nothing more. What appeared to be an ongoing feature of the game just stopped. Warlords of Draenor broke the chain, and while we could still /love the critters of Draenor if we wanted to, there was no achievement for it, and there hasn’t been a new one since. And if there is no achievement, what’s the point?

Well, Shadowlands is here to right the wrong! There is an achievement to /love all the critters in the Shadowlands, To All the Squirrels I’ve Loved and Lost. Sad, but it’s nice to know that the critters that were killed — accidentally or out of boredom — do move on to the afterlife.

To all the squirrels I’ve loved in previous expansions, too!

But that’s not all! Shadowlands is also filling in the gaps. Three more achievements have been added to express our feelings for the critters of Draenor, the Broken Isles, Kul Tiras, and Zandalar. The best part is, you can go do these right now. If you try to search for them in the list of achievements, they don’t show up, but they’re there. Complete the achievements, and they’ll appear, with the appropriate points awarded. I confirmed this by completing the achievement for Draenor.

For a complete list of the critters for the three new, currently invisible critter-loving achievements and their coordinates, check this great thread over on Wowhead. One thing that bears repeating, though: sure that you love critters, and not battle pets. Happy critter hunting!
