Patch 9.1 will remove the cap on the number of battle pets you can have
Your eyes do not deceive you, fellow pet collector! Many of us have struggled with the hard cap on the number of battle pets you can have on your account. Some of us have farmed specific achievements to increase that number, but that is often still not enough. I’ve never been a big pet battler, but I still found myself having to stop collecting pets in Shadowlands due to hitting my own 1,000 pets limit.
Well, those days are over! In the patch 9.1 PTR, players have been tipped that that limit is gone. That’s right: Gone! The only limit that remains for your pet collection is that of only being allowed to have three pets of each type. But when it comes to how many different unique pets you can have, the sky is the limit.
In the past, we used to have to rely on items like the Pocket Pet Portal and the Interdimensional Pet Portal to be able to increase our pet cap. Those items were often tied to pet battling achievements, in addition to costing a lot of Pet Charms. To some players, that wasn’t a problem — pet battling is their game. But others, like me, just want to cage all the pets they find, and have the perfect little critter following each character, without necessarily getting too “hardcore” with their pet battles. The removal of the cap is certainly going to be an enormous help here.
And that is even truer when you consider how many different pets there already are in the game — and a lot more of them are coming with Patch 9.1. I mean, who doesn’t want to have enough room to be able to cage their own weird four-eyed rat, or their purple worm with a gem on its forehead, or this… thing? Everyone, that’s who! Well, fear no more, fellow pet collectors. 9.1 is here to solve all of your problems.
