What kinds of games are your kryptonite?

Big open world RPGs could be used to defeat me if I ever became a threat to all life. Seriously, if I ever achieve ultimate power and go all supervillain? Just find something like Assassin’s Creed Odyssey and get me in front of it and I am not at all kidding when I saw the world will be saved. I mean, sure, I’d want to use my godlike, terrifying new power to destroy the world, but I don’t have all the fast travel points yet and there’s a cool weapon at the end of this sixteen part quest chain so… I mean, you know how it is, right? Gotta get all of those caverns discovered and all those side quests finished.

It’s not really a surprise I’m so into MMOs now that I think about it.

I also just absolutely cannot turn away from Tetris, or Bejeweled, or any decent puzzler that has that kind of reward loop. I will sit there and clear screens for hours, ignoring things like food and sleep. Heck, back in Wrath of the Lich King times, I actually played Bejeweled on a add-on while I was raiding Naxx. Don’t tell my GM, I was main tank.

And man, don’t even get me started on CRPGs like Arcanum or Wasteland 2, because I have already spent a lot of my time helplessly exploring every single character option available for them.

So now I turn to you with a query — is there a genre or type of game you’d describe as your Kryptonite? You simply can’t stop playing them once you get started, you spend way too much time completing them or getting as far into them as you can, neglecting your mountain lair and your terrifying experiments to combine the blood of all the dragonflights into one horrific creation for the express purposes of world domination, or perhaps destruction? I mean, if so, please tell us so we can stop you.
