The Queue: Glorious!
Last night my guild took a break from pushing Mythic content to knock out our Glory of the Dominant Raider achievements. It’s easily my favorite raid of any tier. I love seeing all the wacky things that Blizzard gets us to do in order to earn these achievements. Like the Remnant of Ner’zhul achievement for tossing the orbs through a hoop on the side of the platform. It was some silly fun! Lucky for my raid I’d been practicing on all of our Ner’zhul attempts up to this point so I was able to make three goals in only five tosses. I’ve heard of other groups that took way longer than that.
On the other hand, I’m pretty sure that the Kel’Thuzad achievement means that we just destroyed Mr. Bigglesworth along with the Lich himself. For which I just have to ask “Who hurt you Blizzard?”
While I write a strongly worded letter to Blizzard about killing cute slime kitties, it’s time for — The Queue.
Q4tQ: It is just me, or have we never been this far into an expansion (a year and six weeks or so, give or take?) without knowing the next expac? At least the title and some basic story stuff?
I know the world is upside down with covid and Blizz/AV douchebaggery and all that, no BlizzCon and not much else either in terms of events, but hmph. I’d really like to know where we’re going to go.
It’s true, we have gotten some indication prior to now usually. In the past, we’ve been told what the final content patch will be, and then at BlizzCon or another suitably large event Blizzard will drop the first trailer and look ahead to the future.
Since there’s been no BlizzCon this year because of Covid-19 and there won’t be a BlizzConline either, they’re in the unique position of just holding onto that reveal until after we’ve defeated the Jailer in 9.2 and have seen the final beats of the Shadowlands story. I wouldn’t expect them to hold the announcement forever, but I wouldn’t be surprised if there’s a special Warcraft livestream event around the second or third week of patch 9.2 once the Jailer is defeated.
Q4tQ: If you make “disposable alts”, do you have a favorite race/class/zone combo? I sometimes like to make an orc death knight to zip around the Plaguelands, or explore the Stonetalon Mountains with a night elf hunter.
I’ve never made a disposable alt before, but I do dig the concept. Every character I’ve ever made and leveled has had a purpose beyond just existing for a night of shenanigans. Things like I need another Plate character on this server to collect transmogs for me, or I don’t have a Death Knight from one of the Allied races and I want those fancy new sword transmogs. Most of their purposes are transmog related now that I’m thinking about it…
Q4tQ: What would you do with a drunken sailor?
Keel haul him till he’s sober.
I’ll not have any of my sailors drunk on shift, there are boat things to do! The sea be a harsh mistress, and I’ll follow her example.
Today I learned the guy who voiced Blackhand in Warlords of Draenor also does the voice for Mr Krabbs in Spongebob
Blackhand in the Warcraft movie was yes voiced by Clancy Brown and yes he also does the voice of Mr. Krabbs in Spongebob. But! In Warlords of Draenor Blackhand is not voiced by Clancy Brown.
He’s voiced by everyone’s favorite BlizzCon host: Darin De Paul!
Fun fact: If you listen carefully you might also be able to hear Darin in the Warcraft movie as he is credited in the additional voices section.
Q4tQ: with “Arcane” being such a huge hit, do you think Blizzard’s people will finally get around to working on an animated series? I doubt they’d do the animation in-house, but they’d write/direct/whatever.
I’m honestly shocked that we haven’t gotten one yet. Arcane was such a great show, and despite only having the barest top-level knowledge of League of Legends lore I really enjoyed it.
So how come Blizzard hasn’t made anything similar? Who knows! Maybe they put all of their watchable tie-in property eggs into the Warcraft movie basket? We’ve had rumors of a Diablo animated series on Netflix for a long time — they’ve been happening since at least 2018! So that we haven’t gotten anything concrete since then doesn’t bode super well for any Blizzard media tie-ins that may have been being worked on. TV is a fickle industry and actually getting a TV show on-air can be as rare as getting the Heartbreaker rocket.
But I do hope that Arcane’s success on Netflix means that the streaming services are a little more liberal with series pick-ups in the case of any potential show from Blizzard.
I found cheese pizza Cheez-Its. They are so good, I like them even more than the regular type.
Which means they’ll discontinue them in a couple of months and never release them again.
As I read this I’m eating the Honey Mustard Pringles which are probably my favorite Pringle ever, but they’re so rare. This is the first time I’ve had them in more than a year when I said the exact same thing as you did. So I rushed out and got another four tubes of them the day after tasting them for the first time. Wouldn’t you know it, two weeks later it was like they didn’t exist.
So hold out hope that those Cheez-Its will stay on shelves, or at least show up again in a year.

I hope all of you can have a glorious week! Don’t forget to ask Anna lots of questions for tomorrow.
