The Queue: WHERE’S CHADDIUS?!?
I was going to do a bit about looking so fly next to Chaddius in my Rhinestone Sunglasses and use that as the excuse for why I’m here instead of Mitch today — because I do look extremely fly. But when I got to where he normally lives, Chaddius is missing!
WHERE IS HE?! IS HE ALRIGHT? NOBODY BETTER HAVE HURT MY GOOD STEWARD FRIEND CHADDIUS!!!!
While I try and get to the bottom of this heinous mystery, it’s time for — The Queue.
QftQ: Objectively and subjectively, how do you think that world quests have changed since Legion? To me, the goals of the quests seemed to have gotten much more convoluted in Shadowlands while there is a much smaller pool of them. Even back in BFA, I could count on a pleasant amount of “kill this NPC” or the non-baby-turtle genocide Tortollan quests to hit my quota.
Daily outdoor content has been in such a weird spot since Warlords of Draenor. It feels like it’s been a constant push and pull between lots of quick content and now they’ve swung back towards longer more involved quests.
In theory that should mean that each WQ is worth more on the reward end, but I don’t know if that’s been my experience going from Legion to Shadowlands. They certainly take more time and have more stages, but I’m not feeling that the additional complexity has been worth it. If I spend a bunch of time killing 20+ beasts to charge up an orb for Firim, and then still have to kill a miniboss — I better get some rep and more than 20ish Cyphers of the First Ones.
Is anyone else having a problem opening mailboxes right now?
I had mail from the auction house sitting for so long. Thankfully that cleared up later in the evening, but it was really quite upsetting while I couldn’t actually clear that Mail icon off of my minimap. I hate having that up there, I inevitably forget that I’ve checked it, see it, and then get disappointed when I realize that it’s just the same button as before.
It’s maddening!
Incidentally, what are the pews doing in a corridor?
It’s definitely one of only two possible options:
- Overflow pewing, it’s a very popular church.
- They’ve cleared out a lot of pews in the main area to have a very extravagant wedding with rap battles and a lightsaber fight.
I’m leaning towards #2 since Panic! At the Disco does seem like the kind of group to have a very over the top wedding.
Q4tQ: How’s Elden Ring?
I’m not Mitch, so I can’t speak of firsthand experiences, but…
It looks painful! Also janky, and a little broken sometimes.
One thing that genuinely frustrates me with #ELDENRING is how it simultaneously asks you to take bigger falls than past Soulsborne titles *and* keeps the series' death triggers in random places. I'd just taken a bigger fall than this – it should not have killed me. pic.twitter.com/2T0jASTXld

However there are a lot of people out there who seem to really be vibing with it, and I’m happy for them. Souls games are just not for me. I will however cackle madly every time I see a video like this one.

Don’t mess with bears y’all.
Cat: Are you napping? That means it’s a good time to lick your head right? No, ok I’ll go gnaw on your toes. Oh, you want me to dance on your chest I can do that!
The other morning my cat was walking all over me while I was sleeping. This isn’t a new occurrence, so I was managing to sleep through it. Until he got right into my face and one of his whiskers went directly up my nose.
That was one fast wake-up.
Q4tQ: Are you excited for the world first race next week or are you more interested in the end of raid cinematic being unlocked regardless of difficulty? Do you think that cinematic unlock will occur later than usual, since all the top tier Mythic guilds will be focusing on progression instead of steamrolling normal difficulty in a matter of hours?
I am very excited to see the World First race. I’ve loved seeing how the event itself has progressed from the beginning of Battle for Azeroth and G’huun. I’d be happier if it was closer to a three-horse race, but I am always excited to see who is going to prevail — Liquid (formerly Complexity-Limit) and Echo. Echo definitely looked like the more dominant guild in the Sanctum of Domination, so I’m excited to see if they carry that forward into Sepulcher, or if Liquid has used the downtime to come back with a fresh stack of determination for victory.
As for the Jailer cinematic, it’s tough to say. The top guilds aren’t as interested in pushing for the early kills and instead focus on getting the additional power boosts from the weekly reset. With tier sets and their associated bonuses back on the menu, getting the additional power boost can help to push them over the hump of early damage checks. I would also assume that they’ve got a very detailed plan about how to go about ensuring the quickest clears through the tier dropping bosses so they could push out five or six dead normal difficulty Zovaal’s pretty quickly.
This raid has way too much trash though.
Why… why does Blizzard insist on doing this? I think the Sepulcher looks SO cool, but trash drains my will to live. Like raiding isn’t time-consuming enough already.
So after noodling on it for a moment, this is definitely what we should’ve expected with the size of the raid. If you have a giant raid, you need a lot of things in it to make it feel like a vibrant exciting area. If we were running around and there were sparse pulls it’d feel a little weird. Sure there’s the argument that this is a mostly abandoned facility from the First Ones — but we’ve seen how many constructs are just hanging around.
So what’s to be done? I think that we need to get some mondo power buffs while we’re out and about in the zones. We’re spending all this time with the greatest heroes of Azeroth and the Shadowlands, why aren’t we getting some benefit for that. Let them contribute massive damage to our pulls as we’re working through the areas. That way you still get a populated zone — and we get to feel like badasses.
