What makes your favorite tier set better than all the others?

World of Warcraft has a lot of tier sets.

Players love collecting them, and they certainly love obsessing over what the next raids version will look like. Sepulcher of the First Ones saw Blizzard return them to raids. Now there are even more sets of gear to choose from for every player — AKA the opposite of a problem until you start trying to pick a favorite one. How do you choose which one to wear?

After all, the armor you wear the first time you step out into a new continent could say a lot about the kind of Mage you are. (Especially with how often characters will show up in the in-game cut scenes now.) You don’t want to feel like you missed an opportunity to look cool when standing next to Alexstraza do you?

Personally, I just really love the Nighthold Druid set. The giant glowing owl motif screams Druid to me. I also like that I can probably stand in for a lighthouse in a pinch. The little touches on the set really sell it though, like how the gloves have these cool little claws on them. Pairing it with one of the Balance Artifact weapons or the Scythe of the Unmaker also really ties the whole power of the moon and stars feeling together. Sometimes I just really like to feel like a star-powered bear when I’m tanking! I do also make sure that I always keep my Druid’s armor transmogged, even if I spend most of my time as a Werebear — it’s probably a DPS increase.

So why do you find yourself returning to one set above the others so often? Does it remind you of a particularly tough raid that you overcame? Do you feel like you are just the best possible version of a Rogue or Death Knight when you wear it? Do you just really love how it looks? Have you just never changed off of Paladin Judgement?
