Mother’s Blessing event returns to Sanctuary this week with a 35% bonus to experience in Diablo 4

Rejoice residents of Sanctuary for this week Lilith has once again deemed us worthy of a boon to our gold and experience while adventuring. From August 21 until August 28 at 10am PT. pacific Diablo 4 players will receive 50% extra gold and 35% extra XP regardless of whether they are playing on the Eternal realm or playing their Season 5 characters. This bonus extends across all World Tier difficulties, so there’s no need to move up or down to take advantage of it.

Mother’s Blessing comes at a fortuitous time, as players start through Season 5, which lasts for only two months — a month less than the typical season. That extra experience will help get characters through a new Season Journey before the Vessel of Hatred expansion comes out on October 8.

But even though the expansion is right around the corner, there’s a lot to enjoy in Season 5, and most of it is available in the base game as well as the season, so we’ll be able to keep playing it when the expansion — and Season 6 — starts. The biggest activity is the Infernal Hordes event, where you can fight off waves of hellish foes and finally reach the Fell Council. The council has significant ties to Mephisto and Vessel of Hatred, as they were the original High Council of Zakarum, tasked with guarding Mephisto’s soulstone. They were corrupted, and now five of them remain as servants of Hell. Each council member has unique abilities, and you’ll only fight three of them (chosen randomly) in each encounter. That should give this new activity a lot of life — as well as a unique tie in to the game’s upcoming story.

The season also features a massive overhaul for unique items, aiming to make them more appealing after Season 4 reworked loot — which wound up being a big power boost for everything except uniques. Now they have more stats and more special effects, which should make them worth equipping (despite losing a legendary affix and tempering slot). Of course, you’ll have to go through the game and re-collect these powerful uniques to suit your character, and you only have a short amount of time to do it.

Jump into Diablo 4 this week to give yourself a Season 5 boost with Mother’s Blessing — the season will be over before you know it.
