Which Diablo 4 seasonal ability or feature has been your favorite so far?

Diablo 4 Season 3 is underway and willing adventurers can now fight against the latest Sanctuary-ending threat under the sands of Kehjistan, and this time we’ll have some actual help. Season of the Construct has a borrowed power system like the other Diablo 4 seasons but unlike the other systems, it’s the robotic Seneschal Companion that gets the new seasonal abilities. I’m enjoying the introduction of our little robot friend but, in my opinion, it has some work to do to knock off Metamorphosis as my favorite Diablo 4 seasonal ability so far.

If you took a break during the last season, Season of Blood, Metamorphosis was a seasonal ability that turned your regular Evade into a visual cloud of vampire bats that transported you to a new location while it simultaneously buffed your character and damaged the enemies in your path. Everything about the last season appealed to me, especially the vampire-themed abilities and Metamorphosis absolutely took the cake, which was a far cry from Diablo 4’s first season, Season of the Malignant, where I didn’t have any strong feelings about the abilities or the story. The coinciding mass nerfs didn’t help the season either but I think Blizzard and the Diablo 4 team came back strong knocked it out of the park with season 2, Season of Blood.

Initially, I think the Seneschal Companion is a good way to shake-up the seasonal power system. I like the variety of introducing it through our new robot friend instead adding another player-centric system that runs concurrently with the base skills, abilities, and paragon nodes. There’s still plenty of season to go and the jury is still out on just how powerful or versatile our little bot friends can become but I’m hopeful that the build potential and variety in the Seneschal ability trees will pan out and become a favorite.
