Diablo 4 Season 3 starts is now live! Play Season of the Construct and earn your new Seneschal Companion
Diablo 4 is all in on speedy seasonal switchovers, with new seasons starting the same day the previous season ends: and with Season 2 wrapping up today, it’s almost time for Season 3 to begin. Diablo 4 Season 3, Season of the Construct, starts Tuesday, January 23, 2024 at 10am pacific / 1pm eastern. The Season is now live!
It’s always possible that there will be some delays in the exact time: we had a few hours of delay in the transition after Season 1 went offline. However, the Diablo team’s goal seems to be an immediate transition, and no downtime has been announced.
Season 3 is the Season of the Construct, featuring magical constructs built by Zoltun Kulle — yes, that Zoltun Kulle — to both fight and befriend. We’ll have a new Seneschal Companion (aka friendly robot buddy) accompanying us through the season, which we’ll be able to customize with Governing and Tuning Stones to compliment our builds. But we’ll also be fighting a whole lot of robots since Kulle’s constructs have been corrupted by the demon Malphas. No surprise: it’s up to us to stop Malphas and end the threat of these new robotic constructs. Along the way we’ll be clearing out trap-filled Vaults, a new type of dungeon that seems to be highly focused on dodging. The more traps you get tangled in, the fewer rewards you’ll get at the end, so be careful!
There are also some nice quality of life improvements coming with the new season. A new respec mode will allow you to tinker with your skill tree before committing to changes, Helltides are stepping it up and will be available (almost) all the time, WASD movement is available by default for mouse and keyboard players, item level scaling at higher difficulties is improved, there are new uniques and legendaries to collect, and some class balance changes that will shake up gameplay for the season. You’ll want to read the full patch notes for all the details.
I’ll see you in Sanctuary for Season 3, starting later today!
