Blizzard Watch Weekly: Fyr’alath disappointment edition
It’s been a while since we did one of these, huh? After a long break from these weekly roundups, here’s a rundown of what you need to know about Blizzard (and a few other) games this week.
New this week
- Blizzard buffed drop rate of Fyr’alath the Dream Render, but the legendary system in Dragonflight remains frustrating at best. After struggling through the RNG of getting the initial drop, you still have an extremely expensive crafting process ahead of you.
- Diablo 2: Resurrected Ladder Season 6 went live on Thursday, giving you a fresh chance to climb the ladder in this Diablo classic. It’s always worth jumping in for the rush to max level, even if you aren’t interested in the grind of playing all the time.
Coming soon
- The Hearthstone 10th anniversary event starts on February 27 with a new legendary quest chain and rewards. You can already pick up 24 free cards just for logging on, but when the quest chain goes live you can earn golden versions of those gift cards as well as a special birthday coin.
- WoW Classic Hardcore Solo Self Found mode launches on February 29, letting you up the challenge of your hardcore characters by reducing your loot options. You’ll play on regular Classic Hardcore servers: just create a new character and
- The next Diablo 4 Campfire Chat is on February 29 at 11 a.m. PST will talk about upcoming (and delayed) Gauntlet leaderboard system that’s due to launch this season. I expect we’ll also get news on the game’s mid-season update, which should be coming soon.
WoW Classic Season of Discovery
Season of Discovery went live earlier this month, but there are still new things to find. We have posts on a few things you should still go hunting for:
- All skill books in Season of Discovery Phase 2 and where to find them
- How to get the Cozy Sleeping Bag in WoW Classic Season of Discovery
Hearthstone
- Battlegrounds is more fun than ever with spells and quests making a return. Here’s EVERY spell in Hearthstone Battlegrounds and how to use them.
Tabletop
I’m working on buffing our TTRPG content a bit, and this week we have two articles from Phil that talk about the TTRPGs beyond D&D.
- Party of one: an introduction to solo tabletop RPGs
- Four tabletop RPG Kickstarters flying under your radar
