What is your reaction to all the Switch 2 information we got this week?

After waiting months since the announcement of the Nintendo Switch 2 we received a lot of game announcements and new information this week — including the release date of June 5. There was a lot to digest from the Direct as well as from all the new details online. After sifting through it all I got to admit: I’m a little underwhelmed.
This is not to say that it doesn’t look like a substantial upgrade to the current Switch. The main problem for me isn’t the pricing but the fact that Nintendo no longer has a monopoly on handheld gaming. There’s the Steam Deck, of course, but the Sony Playstation has its Portal accessory as well — although that’s admittedly just a remote viewer/controller, not a standalone system. Even Xbox seems to be ready to join the fun with rumors gaining steam about a handheld in partnership with Asus. If Nintendo was still the only player in the handheld gaming field I’d be a lot more excited about the possibility of playing Hades 2 or Split Fiction on the Switch 2. But those games are available for PC and are Steam Deck ready so I don’t need the Switch 2 to play them on my couch.
Of course Nintendo has a lot of exclusive games that won’t show up elsewhere; titles like Mario Kart World and Donkey Kong Bananza are coming at launch or shortly thereafter, and the not-actually-Bloodborne-but-totally-is-Bloodborne game Duskbloods received a lot of attention as a 3rd-party platform exclusive during the presentation. What if you’re not interested in these games though? I’m personally not interested in dropping $70 on Donkey Kong Bananza if I’m not sure I’m going to enjoy it fully — and since it’s a Nintendo game there’s little hope of a more palatable price tag in the future. Obviously exclusive franchises that I’m a fan of such as Fire Emblem or Professor Layton are enticing at full price but we didn’t get an announcement of a new title for either (there is a new Professor Layton coming, but it’ll be available on the Switch as well). So there’s not really a spot for the Switch 2 on my console table but Nintendo doesn’t have to worry too much about it because my kid will be getting one right away if he can and he’s way more likely to enjoy the new chat features than someone like I can.
But that’s enough of this old man yelling at a cloud. What did you think? Are you hyped for the Switch 2 or are you hesitant to get it now? Did the new information change your attitude at all? And which of the games announced are you most interested in?
