Here’s what we know about WoW patch 12.0.7, with a likely release date in June

The World of Warcraft Midnight patch cycle is in full swing; despite some player uncertainty due to a unprecedented number of bugs in patch 12.0.5, which launched April 21, Blizzard has already announced new features for patch 12.0.7. The new patch is named Midnight: Revelations, and though it’s a minor patch it has a large slate of features, including new quests, a new one-boss raid, the return of Turbulent Timeways (including a new spiky, frosty dragon mount), and the long-awaited addition of outdoor lighting to Player Housing. We don’t have an exact release date for patch 12.0.7 yet, but we can make an educated guess based Blizzard’s quick eight-week patch cadence: the WoW patch 12.0.7 release date is likely the week of June 16, 2026.

Usually these x.0.7 patches bring a combination of enhanced power for teams still trying to mop up the content from the x.0 patch, as well as story and quests that lead into the content of the following x.1 patch, and it looks like that’s exactly what we can expect here. So let’s dig into the full feature list for WoW patch 12.0.7.

What’s in WoW patch 12.0.7?

There’s a lot going on here at all levels of content, as we’re coming to expect from even minor WoW patches, so let’s just do a rundown:

  • Void Showdowns: Not content with fighting them off at rituals, invasions, incursions, and everywhere else, you can now follow a portal from the Voidstorm to one of two other Void-occupied worlds — the fungus forest of Naigtal, inhabited by another faction of Ethereals called the Hal’hadar, or Val, a frozen world that was once home to the Legion. These rotate every few days, and including new World Quests, events, and even confronting the leaders on these worlds as World Bosses.
  • The Omnium Folio: Everyone’s favorite feuding Magisters, Rommath and Umbric, are on a mission to restore the Sunstrider Omnium, an ancient elven relic created by Dath’remar Sunstrider to study the schools of magic; after a long time not functioning, the Omnium has awakened on its own. What does this mean? Well, for us, it means we’ll be obtaining the Omnium Folio, a book of magical runes we can use in battle and empower each week through weekly tasks.
  • New Raid: Sporefall: In Harandar, a new single-boss raid is being added to fight a fungal giant, Rotmire. This raid will come in all the usual varieties — Raid Finder, Normal, Heroic, and Mythic — plus Blizzard is testing something new with this raid. Sporefall will be available in a “flex Mythic” difficulty: Mythic Sporefall can be run by anywhere from fifteen to twenty-five raiders, rather than being hard-locked at twenty.
  • Lorewalking: Loas: Join Assistant Lorewalker Li Li Stormstout in learning about the Troll deities known as loa; you’ll get to learn about all kinds of Troll spirits, including the Zandalari, Drakkari, Gurubashi, Darkspear, and maybe the Amani. Can’t imagine why that would be relevant, what with that mysterious loa-related island lurking off the coast of Zul’Aman…
  • Two new Troll-related questlines: Speaking of Trolls, there are two questlines related to them in this patch: one involves helping Loa Speaker Brek and Jan’alai, Loa of Fire, birth a new clutch of dragonhawk eggs; the other involves a gathering called by the Haranir during which Zul’jan and his uncle Kinduru get drawn into a mystery around the legacy of the Amani trolls. Again, I’m sure this has nothing to do with any ominous fog-enshrouded islands that warp you back to the mainland if you get too close.
  • Turbulent Timeways returns: The multi-week Timewalking extravaganza is back again, this time adding Dragonflight Timewalking to the mix! If you finish the achievement associated with this one — which usually requires running a minimum number of Timewalking dungeons per week, which also incidentally makes Turbulent Timeways great for alt leveling — the mount this time is the Spawn of Vyranoth, a spiky, icy proto-drake.
  • Lighting outside your house: Finally, you can put those lamp posts outside! Lighting decor will have some restraints around its light radius, so you won’t be able to combine multiple overlapping stacked lights into a phosphorus flashbang that blinds your neighbors, but no longer do you have to look wistfully at your lampposts and glowing mushrooms and wonder when you can tastefully decorate your lawn. The answer is patch 12.0.7!

There’s even more, including micro-holidays like the Darkspear Dash (an official version of the Running of the Trolls event) and more user interface changes, like the ability to finally customize the Personal Resource Display, so it’s with cautious optimism that we look to the future as Midnight continues to roll along!
