The scent of woodsmoke and slightest chill, combined with the fact that I can now officially put up all my spooky scary decor has propelled me from the endless month of Mar-gu-sep-ril into October. As such, I’m pretty sure I’m going to put up my Christmas tree on November 1st. Why not.

The good news is, we now know the date of the 9.0.1 pre-patch leading up to World of Warcraft's Shadowlands expansion -- October 13.

Rutherford and I are really just trying to get some peace and quiet this week. Let’s all grab a mug of something warm while we settle in to answer questions! Hopefully, a bear won’t be sniffing at yours the whole time. Rude.

As is usually the case these days, if you can find your way out of an expansion hub, there's usually a portal to take you back.

Don’t mind me, just getting ready for my afterlife! Really, I have to acclimate Rutherford most of all — he likes the trees, but despite palling around with me, he’s not all that into glitter. Baby steps, big bear. Baby steps.

This morning I got information from my daughter’s school about picture day, and I swear coffee came out of my nose. I don’t know why I think that’s so starkly funny — in this economy? in a pandemic? — but any kind of laugh to get you through the day.

I know the jokes about it still being April are going to get old one day, but I’m pretty sure that day is sometime in 2021.

We’re at the point of quarantine where I’m so desperate for a vacation that I’ve been asking — maybe even begging — my kids to go spend the night with me in a tent outside. They are not at all into it.  I don’t fully blame them, since where we live it is uncomfortably hot and sticky, and it’s been raining for the past two days, but still. Since our summer vacation usually involves a road trip with fast food and gas station snacks I’ve also been craving Burger King. I finally broke down and got some gummi bears, but it just isn’t the same.
