It's a big week for World of Warcraft maintenance as the Midnight pre-patch finally hits live realms.

The Cooldown Manager is an in-game tool to help players track their ability cooldowns, buffs, and debuffs, replicating functionality that has usually been provided by addons such as WeakAuras and TellMeWhen.

Tuesday brings the Midnight pre-patch and a number of systems changes, from transmog to UI to class overhauls.

In a recent round table interview with PC Gamer, Principal designer and World of Warcraft Player Housing lead Jesse Kurlancheek dropped a comment that sent our minds racing: "guild halls may go live relatively quickly." Record scratch.

Get ready to roll those Void Elf Demon Hunters, because the Midnight pre-patch launches on January 20, 2026, immediately after Legion Remix ends.

The Midnight pre-patch is almost upon us, and with it will come the long discussed "addon apocalypse," where changes to the back end have either made it impossible to maintain certain addons, or made the task of updating them too daunting for some developers to want to continue.

Today's maintenance is completely average for players on The War Within and Mists of Pandaria Classic servers, with just a quick hour of downtime scheduled for both.

While the vast majority of Player Housing decor can be obtained without relying on random chance, there are a few pieces so far in early access that require some good ol' luck to acquire.

It looks like Midnight will arrive with a much asked-for tweak to Player Housing -- the ability for decor mailboxes to actually function and allow the retrieval of in-game mail.

It won't be long until the Midnight pre-patch is upon us, bringing with it a whole slew of changes to the game -- the overhaul to transmog, Void Elf Demon Hunters, and major revamps to every spec except Frost Death Knight (who already got their turn).
