Breakfast Topic: Is Main Spec a thing of the past?

I feel that with tri- and quad- spec coming, the days of considering yourself an Arms Warrior or a Fury Warrior or a Protection Warrior (using Warriors as examples; fill in your own specs here) may be coming to an end. If you can spec Feral, Guardian, Balance, and Restoration, do you? And if you do, does it make the concept of main spec somewhat superfluous?

I expect raids will still recruit for roles, and so you’ll see some folks with Resto or Holy or Protection as their main spec because that’s what they do — they tank or heal or DPS. But for a Hunter, as an example, your main spec will be whatever works, does the most damage, possibly whatever your best Artifact is — it won’t be limited by “Well, I had to pick one, so…” the way it still is today. And for more casual players, it may well be a relic of an older time.

So what about you? Are you going to stick to your main spec, or will you be experimenting in Legion?
