Hearthstone’s Knights of the Frozen Throne releases August 10
The next expansion in Hearthstone, Knights of the Frozen Throne, will release next Thursday on August 10. It comes with 135 new cards and you can still pre-purchase the expansion for $49.99 in order to get the fancy Frostmourne card back. The pre-purchase comes with 50 card packs that you can open as soon as the expansion goes live.
We have all the cards and everything else you need to know about this icy expansion. The new Hero card type adds Death Knight powers to the existing classes, along with a fancy themed portrait. If you’re curious about the cards and Hero Powers that come with Knights of the Frozen Throne, check out the full list. The lore behind the expansion is a little goofy but also fun. Everyone is a Death Knight now and Arthas and Jaina finally get their happy ending. Kind of.
There’s also a new hero portrait that can be yours for the taking. If you manage to defeat the Lich King on all nine classes, you’ll be rewarded with the Young Arthas hero skin for Paladins. It’s no easy feat though. The Lich King is devious and powerful, and he’ll mock you while he stomps all over your deck with his army of undead minions. He seems to have a special dislike for Mages, reducing their hp to a very unhappy 1 at the start of the match. Good luck going against him on one class, yet alone nine.
