New character slots are live in WoW, plus plenty of bug fixes

Yesterday saw a bunch of hotfixes to World of Warcraft, but the hotfix list just scratches the surface of the bugs Blizzard has squashed since Allied Races joined the game. But in case you skipped out on WoW yesterday (which would have been a decent idea), know that you missed a rocky day. Fortunately, today you’re less likely to get a black character screen and Mac clients shouldn’t crash, but anyone who made purchases yesterday may still be seeing duplicate charges (but they should vanish). But the most anticipated fix is definitely the addition of new character slots, which went up this afternoon.

But there was a regular round of hotfixes, too, which addressed a variety of issues from PVP to achievements no longer being awarded for older raids and a current dungeon. Here’s a rundown:

Razorscale is now once again awarding achievement credit in Ulduar, the achievements Twilight Assist, Twilight Duo, and The Twilight Zone are available again in Obsidian Sanctum, and you can once again get achievement credit in Darkheart Thicket for completing Burning Down The House against the Shade of Xavius. There’s only one Emmarel Shadewarden in the Hunter class hall now, and Mythic Keystone Dungeon leaderboards now list up to top 500 in the rankings.

Meanwhile various classes had their PVP templates adjusted, reflecting changes the devs talked about earlier this week. Balance Druids saw both Versatility and Intellect reduced, while Ferals saw both Earthen Grasp and King of the Jungle nerfed. Marksmanship Hunters saw their Agility decreased while Beast Mastery saw it increased, and Mages, Monks and Paladins all saw nerfs as well, as did Rogues, Priests and Shaman.

For a complete list of the hotfixes head to the official site or read the details below. I think we’re looking at just the beginning of some serious PVP changes before Seething Shore finally comes out, myself.
