How would you solve the problem of not having enough bag space?

I’m finally getting to this patch you all have been in for a week, and the first thing I notice, I don’t have enough bag space. Now, this is nothing new to me. I think the only time in my WoW career I actually had sufficient space was when I was between levels 10 and 35. After that, I needed to level Alchemy, so I had stacks of herbs. There was gear to check. I sell everything I pick up and…well, you get it. Several expansions later I still don’t have bag space.

Four of my bags are above. Yes, I know I have Flawless Battle Pet Stones which I could use. That would get those out of my bag. I probably don’t need the cooking ingredients from Legion, but not all recipes in that expansion have been discovered. I have Brutosaurus food which, if I’d just read up on the achievement, I could go feed them and get that out of my bags. Trouble is, I never remember I have food until AFTER I’ve done dailies in Zandalar and come back to Boralus. “Oh right…dino food.”

As you can see, there are all sorts of trinkets and tchotchkes which have absolutely no meaning to anyone other than me. And I know I’m not alone in my collection habits. Yes, that is a Foam Sword. Yes, that is the Time-Lost Artifact. You never know when you want to go to the Timeless Isle. Yes, that is a ghost costume and Direbrew’s Remote. I have a Barnacled Lockbox. Just haven’t gotten around to sending it to a guild member to unlock. It all means something and it’s all in my bags.

I remember at a Q&A a couple years ago, a question was posed about increasing bag size. Game Director Ion Hazzikostas said they’d rather figure out why people save stuff and deal with the problem of lack of bag space that way. They did give us the wardrobe and a mount and battle pet tab, which make collecting those things so much easier. But many of us are still out of space. I’d like to see a trinket tab. I have saved the trinkets that come with a cool effect like Gus’ First Aid Kit or the Shiny Ookin’ Bauble. Then I’d have room in my bank for other stuff.

I’d also like to have an insta-bank, where I have a link directly to MY bank — not the guild bank. I want to deposit stuff into my bank while I’m out in the field.

Of course, neither of these handles the whole “Why, on earth, do you have that stuff?” Well, in the case of gray and white items, I can make a lot of money by selling everything I pick up. It may stack but it’s still a lot to pick up and carry around.

Let’s assume, for the sake of argument, you can’t create larger bags. What idea(s) do you have for solving the problem of not enough bag space?
