What’s your best gaming memory?

Sure, I’ve probably told the story of my wife and I deciding to get married during a Molten Core run, but still, it’s hard to top. Our relationship started online, and we used World of Warcraft to stay connected when we were hundreds of kilometers apart — the game became a big part of our lives, and even today we play games like WoW and Diablo 3 together even after having been married since 2006.

And in that time we’ve built up a language based on those games — back and forth gibes about pulling aggro, the time she got me to level my Shaman so I could go to the swamp and help her tame a Grimtotem Spirit Wolf (which she still has, by the by), and a whole lot more. But I think that day we decided to get married while raiding Molten Core is always going to be my favorite gaming moment.

Lately, gaming is getting blamed for a lot of things that I, personally, don’t think it should be blamed for — and I know that at least in my own life, gaming is the reason I can still see at all. If not for my working here, if not for you guys helping me when I found out I was going blind, if not for the community that gaming built, I would be well and truly without hope. Even when there are things I don’t like in gaming — bad pugs, jerks in chat, y’all have been there — I’ve gained a lot more than I have lost by being in this community.

So how about we try and be positive, just for today? What’s your favorite moment related to gaming, your best memory, the most fun you’ve ever had? Hit those comments up with some of that positivity.
