Blizzard adds a way to skip straight to Mythic Jaina for easy mount farming

Lady Jaina Proudmoore drops one of the coolest mounts of Battle for Azeroth, the Glacial Tidestorm which is a gigantic water elemental that you sit on top of. It’s a gorgeous mount and it even has little fish that swim around inside of it. The only problem was that she’s the last boss of the Battle for Dazar’alor raid, and there was no way to get to her quickly. Even for a seasoned group, you were still looking at a run that would take you at least an hour. You had to go through the whole raid — and even two raid tiers later High Tinkerer Mekkatorque can be a tough fight to get through. Thankfully, Blizzard just added a way to go straight to her!

Battle of Dazar’alor

Players who have previously defeated Lady Jaina Proudmoore on Mythic difficulty can now interact with Otoye (Horde) / Ensign Roberts (Alliance) at the entrance of the instance to skip ahead to her encounter.
- Developers’ note: We’ve become aware of an exploit that allowed Horde players using a combination of abilities and mounts to get out of bounds and skip to the end of the instance. This was commonly used to more easily get a chance at the Glacial Tidestorm from the Jaina Proudmoore encounter. Rather than just fixing that loophole, we’d like to provide a legitimate avenue that yields the same result.

This is by far the easiest raid skip I’ve seen them add. You don’t even have to get four doodads from bosses in the raid, you just need to have killed Jaina before on Mythic difficulty. After that, it’s just a simple matter of talking to the new NPC. They’re right inside the instance — you don’t even have to clear any trash to get to them. You’ll get teleported right onto the ship at the end, and anyone new who zones into the raid will load in right next to you.

This is great news for anyone who was using the group finder to try and get their hands on the Glacial mount. I’ve seen more than a few predatory players try and steal lockouts to sell in trade chat. Due to the nature of Mythic lockouts even if you came back a day later to try again, any of the other players in the group could’ve killed Jaina and you would’ve been out of luck for that week. It could be better to attempt the fight with fewer players than invite someone random from the group finder.

The Glacial Tidestorm is still a guaranteed drop from Jaina, and is presumed to remain so until the release of Shadowlands. This leaves you lots of time to try and get everyone in your raid group one of their very own. As a bonus, she drops two mounts every time you beat her, so if you run with the same 20 players each week that’s only ten runs! Just don’t forget that Jaina is a crafty mage and has spent enough time around players to know some of our tricks. If you cast Bloodlust, she will Ice Block for the full duration of your Bloodlust.
