What role should Garrosh Hellscream play in Shadowlands?

Each of the Afterlives videos included a well-known lore character from the past. The first two had someone that will play a role in Shadowlands, and the third had a character whose story completed within the animated short. But Afterlives: Revendreth had a cameo of Garrosh Hellscream, who has not appeared in the Shadowlands beta. This makes one wonder: Could he play a role in the expansion? And would could it be?

Garrosh appeared to be chained up underneath Castle Nathria, the first raid of Shadowlands. Perhaps players will free him, and he will be a major character going forward in patch 9.1. The souls in Revendreth are there to redeem themselves for the sins of their life, Garrosh could have a redemption arc. Perhaps, he could be reunited with Thrall — er, Go’el — and Go’el could admit that it’s his fault Garrosh was able to commit the war crimes he was eventually put on trial for. He takes over Garrosh’s punishments and allows Garrosh to go free. Or, at the least, they have a rematch for the Mak’gora, and Thrall doesn’t cheat this time.

Alternatively, when freeing Garrosh at the end of the Castle Nathria raid, he remembers the players from the end of Siege of Orgrimmar and decides to attack. This becomes a Mythic-only boss fight not available on beta. Players love Mythic-only lore content. Just kidding — they hate that. See also: the Cho’Gall Mythic-only fight in Warlords of Draenor.

Maybe, now that it has been established souls can leave the Shadowlands to return to the physical world, Garrosh returns to lead the Orcs within the Horde. Or tries to fight against the Lightbound. Or maybe he returns to Outland and retires in Nagrand. Maybe that short was his full role for Shadowlands — just a glimpse of an eternity of suffering in Revendreth, and players leave him there. A battery of anima for the realm.

What do you think the fate of Garrosh Hellscream will be? What do you think it should be? Should he atone for what he did and move on to another realm of the Shadowlands? Or does he deserve to be flung into the Maw?
