Blizzard Watch Weekly: War Within, Dragonflight Season 4, and more from this week’s news

Happy weekend everyone! We’ve had a good bit of excitement this week with some Dragonflight Season 4 and War Within previews, as well as news on WoW patch 10.2.6 (pirates??) and the next Diablo 4 Campfire Chat, both coming next week. That’s the summary of Blizzard news, but in Blizzard Watch news, we’re looking for new writers! With Patreon support holding strong we’re looking to grow our staff and increase our post count, and we’re looking for two or three people to help us out. Now, let’s get into this week’s news as well as a rundown on what’s happening next week.

New this week

• The War Within Hero Talents continue to be revealed, with a dozen new previews released this week, including the first look at Monk and Shaman. Check out our rundown of all Hero Talents, or go directly to the new Hero Talent previews. I’m not a Death Knight, but everyone I know is very excited about the Rider of the Apocalypse Death Knight.
• Dragonflight Season 4 is getting some big dungeon changes. Think of it as a reverse squish: Heroic dungeons will essentially become the new Mythic 0, and the range of Mythic dungeons will be smaller. This will give players who aren’t interested in dealing with M+ timers and affixes a chance to do more difficult small-group content.
• Hearthstone’s 10th anniversary was officially this week, and while the game has been celebrating for a while this week it added some rewards in World of Warcraft. You can now grab a red variant Hearthsteed mount for logging on to Hearthstone and completing the tutorial, and you can get a Hearthstone-themed mount, pet, and transmog for killing a slew of Hearthstone bosses in World of Warcraft. Here’s how to do the Warcraft event — which is easy, but it will take quite a few kills to get all of the rewards.
• Critical Role’s Daggerheart TTRPG has just entered playtesting, and you can now download the full 377 page playtest guide as well as create characters using Demiplane (which is all I’ve been doing this week).

Coming soon

• March 19: WoW patch 10.2.6 is finally arriving next week! We still know very little about what will be in the patch, but we’ll find out soon. Pirates? Maybe!
• March 19: Hearthstone’s Whizbang’s Workshop expansion launches with a new suite of cards and a fresh rewards track. It’s pretty much the regular cycle for Hearthstone, and the new selection of cards will certainly shake up the constructed meta.
• March 20: Diablo 4’s next Campfire Chat will cover Season 4, the new PTR, and “massive” itemization changes coming to the game in April. Tune in on Twitch or YouTube March 20 at 11am pacific / 2pm eastern.
