Blizzard Watch Weekly: Sometimes you really do want to set the world on fire

I’ve got to admit, I’m a little more excited for this week’s Bethesda news than anything in Blizzard games… but even that is thin gruel for Fallout and Elder Scrolls fans, so maybe don’t hold your breath while you scroll down to see what’s happening. And while we’re still waiting for the next round of content to hit Blizzard games, there are a few pieces of news this week that are worth talking about — so let’s get to the news, and catch up on what happened last week and what’s coming up this week in Blizzard games.

What happened last week?

What’s happening this week (and beyond)

Other things we’re playing, watching, and more

  • Bethesda has laid out a roadmap of upcoming games, though it’s so vague on when anything might happen that I’m not sure I should be calling it a roadmap. But it does promise Fallout 5 (in pre-production), remasters of Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas, a new Fallout game from Obsidian (which we’d already heard about, but now know isn’t Fallout 5 or a remaster), The Elder Scrolls 6 (in production, but without a release window), and more content for Starfield. That last bit is a pretty vague promise in an already vague announcement, but us sci-fi fans have to take what we can get.
  • This week’s Epic Games Store freebies are horror games coming at the genre from a very different angle: Echo Generation, a cozy horror game in the vein of Stranger Things, and Luto, a gory horror game that is the opposite of cozy. Glhf my friends, as they’re both free through Thursday.
  • It’s still a little early for spooky season, but I’m a fan of keeping things spooky year round, so we’re digging into the latest D&D Ravenloft book to find the very best monsters for your next game.

That’s all for this week. Thanks for reading, and I’ll be back next week with another weekly news recap!
