From melting marines to crucified angels to a Titan kaiju laser-beaming Wyrmrest Temple and more — it’s the BlizzCon 2026 trailer roundup

While the panels at BlizzCon provide deeper looks at the various announcements, they’re almost always kicked off in the form of a flashy reveal trailer or cinematic.

If you’d prefer to watch them in their natural environments, the entire ~1.5 hour BlizzCon 2026 Opening Ceremony can be watched on Blizzard’s YouTube channel. But if you’re in it just for the trailers, we have you covered.

StarCraft‘s surprise open-world shooter trailer

StarCraft surprised just about everyone with a three-minute announcement cinematic for an upcoming open-world shooter. We don’t know much else about the title except that it’s currently just called StarCraft and is currently set to release in 2030.

Diablo 5 official teaser trailer

The Diablo team also managed to surprise just about everyone — except maybe someone who’d already had this on their BINGO board — with a teaser trailer for Diablo 5.

Yes, that’s right. Diablo 5 is set to release in 2029 and features a world somehow more depressing than both current Sanctuary and our current reality. “What if a different set of heroes tried to stop Diablo and failed?” is effectively the premise here, with players on the path toward fixing a broken, ruined world. Fun times, to be sure!

World of Warcraft: Midnight patch 12.2 trailer

StarCraft and Diablo may have had their big surprises, but Blizzard still had plenty left up its sleeves — including several reveals for World of Warcraft. The first of those reveals came in the form of a reveal trailer for patch 12.2: Eclipse. In it, Xal’atath closes in on (presumably) Azeroth’s World Soul, breaking into its chamber with ease.

World of Warcraft: The Last Titan cinematic teaser trailer

Midnight was just the beginning, though. Despite the promise of more info on The Last Titan coming in the first half of 2027, we didn’t receive a whole lot of info on the next modern WoW expansion — but we did receive a minute-long teaser called COLOSSAL that shows what appears to be a gigantic Titan construct destroying huge swaths of Dragonblight, starting with Wyrmrest Temple.

World of Warcraft: Forever (AKA Classic+) cinematic and gameplay reveal trailers

The long-rumored “Classic+” has finally been revealed in the form of World of Warcraft: Forever. A beautiful reimagining of the original WoW cinematic showcases all the subtle and not-so-subtle ways WoW: Forever is going to be a reimagining of the vanilla experience, including a lovely homage to the original Forsaken reveal with the entrance of the Forsaken Paladin.

We weren’t just treated to a glorious cinematic trailer, either. For anyone wondering what gameplay might look like in WoW: Forever? Blizzard has you covered. (Though, you will definitely want to check out more of our hands-on coverage since the trailer only scratches the surface!)

Warcraft 3: Forsaken Kingdom gameplay trailer

Yes, you read that right. Warcraft 3 joined the party as a surprise guest with the reveal of the game’s first brand-new campaign in 20 years. Forsaken Kingdom centers around the Forsaken’s stand at what will eventually become Undercity, alongside new units, secret missions, and more.

Overwatch Doctrine Hero trailer

Look, full disclosure: I have no idea what’s happening in Overwatch. But the team at BlizzCon not only promised 10 new Heroes in the next year but also treated us to a good ol’ fashioned Overwatch animated trailer. In it, the Talon gang breaks the newest Support Hero, Doctrine, out of Watchpoint: Grimsvotn in order to help Doomfist make an even doom-ier fist (i.e., replace his old one that broke when he fell to his presumed death).

Also, Doomfist is alive still. Surprise! Overwatch Heroes never stay dead.

Hearthstone Reign of the Black Empire expansion and Monk class reveal trailers

The Old Gods are back! Or, well, we’re going back in time to see them at the height of their power but, eh, potato/potahto. The next expansion for Hearthstone is Reign of the Black Empire, bringing C’Thun, N’Zoth, Y’Shaarj, and Yogg-Saron front and center as they rule over Azeroth. Better times, eh?

If you want to beat the Old Gods in a game of cards, you’d better bring a Monk. Or something. While the Monk is not arriving at the same time as Reign of the Black Empire — the Monk class joins Hearthstone sometime in 2027 — Blizzard was still happy to treat players to a fun reveal trailer.

Heroes of the Storm Xal’atath reveal trailer and Hero Spotlight

Sorry, did you think we were done with the surprise reveals just because we had two games announced with release dates close to or at the start of the next decade? Think again!

Yes, the Old Gods answered our prayers and brought back Heroes of the Storm from the dead — with a little help from everyone’s favorite Void baddy, Xal’atath.

Yes, Xal’atath is coming to Heroes of the Storm as its first new Hero since the game went into maintenance mode back in 2022. There are at least two members of staff here that are still asking to be pinched in case this is all a dream.
