World of Warcraft: Midnight roadmap shows us what’s coming, and hints at the next launch
One of World of Warcraft: Midnight reveals at BlizzCon was the roadmap of future content leading up to the next expansion, The Last Titan. This roadmap is set to take us up to summer 2027 and past Season 3 and several content updates.
First up, we have the imminent patch 12.1.5 coming this autumn, which you’ve probably seen on the PTR. You know the drill here. We’re getting labyrinths, a new story campaign chapter, a new one-boss raid, Aqir Invasion events, Hallow’s End updates, and more warband-wide reputations (this time for Legion and Battle for Azeroth).
Paul Kubit teased us with some “big juicy story moments” coming in patch 12.1.7, which will launch sometime around late autumn or early winter, and lead us into the final major content update of Midnight. Patch 12.7.1 also features Talebound, a rogue-like action RPG in its own world, which is coming to the PTR for an early preview next month. In addition, we’ll get more Lorewalking, Turbulent Timeways, and Winter Veil updates.

This winter, we’ll see Eclipse, the final major content update in the form of patch 12.2 and Season 3 of Midnight. This features your standard major patch content — new zone, dungeon, lair, delves, prey, and raid. We’re also getting a new legendary! Kinda suspicious of spooky knives lately, but it’s legendary so it’ll be fine, right? For Paladin fans, we’re getting three new races! Forsaken, Night Elves, and Trolls will finally be able to wield the righteous light. And, finally, we’ll see some nice housing updates, as well as a cool feature called the Calibration Chamber. This is kind of like a training scenario for your entire raid to practice.
Early spring brings us an expansion reveal for The Last Titan. Later in the spring, we’ll get patch 12.2.5 with arguably the most important update yet — transmog updates! And yeah, we also get Soulstorms as a new world event and more story and quests, but that all pales in comparison to looking good.

Between spring and summer of 2027, we see one last update in the form of patch 12.2.7. This brings us Lorewalking updates, profession updates, and Midsummer updates, as well as some more story and quests. And for summer, we’ll get Wrath of the Lich King Remix, which seems to be the perfect activity to tide us over until, oh, maybe an expansion launch. Putting a possible The Last Titan launch in autumn 2027 would give us a similar time interval that we had between The War Within and Midnight.
And that’s the game plan for the next year or so. What are you looking forward to the most?
