Tanking in a massively multiplayer game like World of Warcraft is when certain classes (Monks, Death Knights, Warriors, Paladins and Druids, in the case of WoW) choose a specialization and perform a role that is intended to keep the monsters in a dungeon or raid focused on said tank, and not instead on the healers or damage dealers in the group. You may already have known that, but it can be useful to establish basics right up front.

I have to admit, I like it when games are designed by people who are enthusiastic about it. And game designer Kent-Erik Hagman fits the bill. Reading this interview with VentureBeat, my immediate thought was that I'd like to get a chance to watch this guy play the game because he's just so into it. The fallen Titan unleashed the Burning Legion and sent them across infinity, devouring worlds like cosmic locusts, rendering them lifeless. A nearly unstoppable army of demons under his banner finds worlds and unmakes them, and so far only one planet has held out against the onslaught of Sargeras and his Burning Legion. But who is Sargeras? What motivates this being? What drives him to seek the unmaking of the entire universe?

As you may know, this Saturday, June 6th there will be a live Q&A with Lead Game Designer Ion Hazzikostas. Now they're asking for your questions for said Q&A, and there are two ways you can get involved.

There is in fact a reasonable amount of stuff to do at max level. So how come it doesn't feel like there is? Why do I, and so many other players, feel disconnected from the world that I just demonstrated is available to us? I think there are two basic problems at max level right now.

I spent the entire raid in churning agony as my intestines attempted to leap out of my body through any convenient orifice. To call it excruciating is to demean the experience, really. Hopefully I can get this Queue done before I’m consumed from the inside.
