Matthew Rossi

Matthew Rossi @MatthewWRossi — Matthew Rossi is a synapsid, perhaps descended from Cynognathus. He was born in Providence, Rhode Island, and grew up there before leaving to see the world and be mistaken for a sasquatch and/or minor singing celebrity in various locales. He currently lives and writes in Edmonton alongside his amazing and beautiful wife and their cats. He’s written three collections of speculative fiction, Things That Never Were, Bottled Demon and At Last, Atlantis. He loves playing warriors in World of Warcraft, barbarians in Diablo III, and he’s beginning to notice a pattern here.

The Queue: It’s still the best AC game

Yes, this is purely my opinion, art and game quality are both subjective, others may prefer a different game. I know all that. I also know that I’ve now played quite a few Assassin’s Creed games, and for me, the best one hands down is Odyssey. It’s three years old and it’s still the one I play the most, by a long margin. I played and liked Valhalla — Eivor’s a cool protagonist, I have no beef with her — but for me Odyssey is absolutely my favorite of the entire series, and it’s not even close.

And since it’s nearly the end of 2021, I felt like a replay was in order. So I’m back flinging myself off cliffs, playing the new DLC for both Odyssey and Valhalla, and generally having a grand time doing it.

The Diablo 4 Paragon Board expands end-game progression with endless potential

Though it's still in development, the Paragon system in Diablo 4 will add a new way to approach character customization to the game with the Paragon Board. It builds on Diablo 3's Paragon system, where you start earning Paragon points at max level which you can spend to get a fixed bonus to certain abilities, giving you a way to keep progressing.
