The Queue: What are you looking at

Welcome back to The Queue, our daily Q&A feature for all of Blizzard’s games! Have a question for the Blizzard Watch staff? Leave it in the comments!

The new harpy models in Legion are absolutely gorgeous, but what’s really striking is their facial animation. It’s not just the expression, it’s the birdlike way they dart their head this way and that while they’re looking around. I don’t know if the model revamps in Warlords were a test run or what, but they’ve really just amped up the quality with every creature out there since.

The Queue: Snail racing

Welcome back to The Queue, our daily Q&A feature for all of Blizzard’s games! Have a question for the Blizzard Watch staff? Leave it in the comments!

I’m pretty sure the last thing I ever expected to see in Legion was an underground snail-racing ring. But hey, I guess everyone needs something to amuse themselves with, right? Right.

The Queue: Lizard Watch

Welcome back to The Queue, our daily Q&A feature for all of Blizzard’s games! Have a question for the Blizzard Watch staff? Leave it in the comments!

You know, my dad told me there was a lizard in our living room, but I didn’t actually see him until yesterday. We’ve dubbed him Sir Couch, Lord of the Cushions. Basically he’s just hanging out until spring because it’s way, way warmer in here than it is outside. I don’t really see a problem with this, seeing as how the little guy is probably dining on bugs that would otherwise be way more annoying than a scaly buddy just minding his own business. So I guess I have a not-a-pet now. Fun!

The Queue: Peter hears the cheese speak

Welcome back to The Queue, our daily Q&A feature for all of Blizzard’s games! Have a question for the Blizzard Watch staff? Leave it in the comments!

Sometimes I catch Peter listening to the cheese. I don’t know what the cheese has to say, and I’m still working up the courage to ask Peter about it. I know his title says that he’s a waiter, but he doesn’t seem to do a lot of waiting tables. Sometimes I find myself wondering, just where did Peter come from? Who in their right mind would say “Hey, I think I’d like to strand myself in an alternate timeline so I can wait tables for a living,” anyway? Maybe the cheese has the answers. I have answers too, but they’re just for your questions and don’t actually involve cheese, sorry.

The Queue: Storms in Stormwind

Welcome back to The Queue, our daily Q&A feature for all of Blizzard’s games! Have a question for the Blizzard Watch staff? Leave it in the comments!

With a name like Stormwind, you’d think it rained in the city fairly often. But when I saw it actually raining in the city on the Legion alpha the other night, I was struck by the curious feeling that I had never actually seen this before — not without a rain stone at the very least. I don’t know if this was expanded weather effects, or that I just managed to finally be in the right place at the right time. Still, it was really nice to see, and I’m kind of hoping this might be a hint that we’ll see storms in Stormwind with a little more regularity. Let’s face it — it’s super weird to ride in from super-rainy Elwynn to blue sunny skies the second you cross the city border.

The Queue: Shine your shoes

Welcome back to The Queue, our daily Q&A feature for all of Blizzard’s games! Have a question for the Blizzard Watch staff? Leave it in the comments!

I’m pretty sure it’s not really what I’d call a major spoiler to point out that everyone’s favorite shoe-shining gnome, Sheddle Glossgleam, hasn’t gone anywhere in Legion. He’s in Dalaran over at the Threads of Fate, same as always, and if you take a seat he’ll shine your shoes until they sparkle. The random NPCs were one of my favorite parts about the city, so I’m happy to see that at least some of them are still around. Jones the cat is still MIA, but who knows, maybe he’ll come back too. I sort of hope we’ll also see some new iteration of the Higher Learning achievement while we’re at it. Speaking of learning, let’s get to your questions, shall we?

The Queue: Get me off this crazy wolf

Welcome back to The Queue, our daily Q&A feature for all of Blizzard’s games! Have a question for the Blizzard Watch staff? Leave it in the comments!

Man, you go out of your way to save a corrupted wolf Ancient from certain doom and restore his shrine to its former splendor and what do you get in return? A chaotic ride through melting landscape and the worry that falling through the world is suddenly a far more distinct possibility than it’s ever been before. Thanks, Goldrinn. No, really.

The Queue: Selfie with myself

Welcome back to The Queue, our daily Q&A feature for all of Blizzard’s games! Have a question for the Blizzard Watch staff? Leave it in the comments!

Mitch was very kind on last week’s leveling stream — when I missed an opportunity to take a selfie with a larger-than-life ogre-ordering version of me, he filled in for a makeshift version. Now if we could keep Alex from photobombing, that would be great. Let’s get down to the business of answering questions, shall we?

The Queue: Oh boy, jousting

Welcome back to The Queue, our daily Q&A feature for all of Blizzard’s games! Have a question for the Blizzard Watch staff? Leave it in the comments!

It’s probably just a result of the new character models, but I was both surprised and delighted to see just how annoyed my poor leveling stream character looked once we were saddled up in Trial of the Champion. Because let’s face it, jousting wasn’t fun. It was mostly annoying and kind of clunky. …it was, however, still miles above doing Oculus, so at least there was that to be pleased about, right? Let’s get to your questions.

The Queue: #Rogues

Welcome back to The Queue, our daily Q&A feature for all of Blizzard’s games! Have a question for the Blizzard Watch staff? Leave it in the comments!

You know, while I really like the idea of Rogues being able to pickpocket each other in Class Halls and all that (I still haven’t fully tested that feature on the alpha), I’m kind of hoping we’ll see more added to the Class Hall itself. Specifically, more notable names or, because Rogues don’t exactly have a ton of notable names in lore, fun little side events. Like suddenly one day out of nowhere, all glasses, plates and silverware are mysteriously missing. Or all the paintings. Or all the books. Make it rotate, and never give away exactly who is pilfering all the good stuff. I don’t know, little flavor vignettes sound like fun to me. You know what else sounds like fun? Answering your questions, so let’s get to that. Please note: There is talk of Legion in this edition of the Queue, so if you’re avoiding anything spoiler-ish, fair warning!
