Hearthstone update 9.1 targeted for release September 18

Hearthstone is getting an update next week — 9.1 releases on September 18. The update is to implement all balance changes that were outlined and discussed in detail last week. Five cards will be seeing changes in the update — including Basic class cards Hex, Innervate, and Fiery War Axe.

Innervate – Now reads: Gain 1 Mana Crystal this turn only. (Down from 2)
Fiery War Axe – Now costs 3 mana. (Up from 2)
Hex – Now costs 4 mana. (Up from 3)
Murloc Warleader – Now reads: Your other Murlocs have +2 Attack. (Down from +2 Attack, +1 Health)
Spreading Plague – Now costs 6 mana. (Up from 5)

This patch is currently targeted for September 18th PDT. Please note that updates for mobile devices may take a few additional hours to propagate.

Once these card changes are live, players will be able to disenchant cards that are not Basic (Murloc Warleader and Spreading Plague) for their full Arcane Dust value for two weeks. Basic cards cannot be disenchanted and will not be available for an Arcane Dust refund.

The Basic class cards are considered staples in many players’ decks. But Blizzard rightfully points out that with too many of these Basic and Class cards in individual decks, it makes for less fun when new expansions are released. The cards do serve several purposes in the game however, which is why they’re getting balance changes rather than simply being shuffled to the Hall of Fame. In addition, Blizzard would like to limit making Hall of Fame changes to the start of each Hearthstone year. This means the Classic card Murloc Warleader is set for balance changes instead of heading to the Hall of Fame.
