BlizzCon 2017: 6 new, playable Allied Races coming to Battle for Azeroth

Today at BlizzCon, Allied Races have been confirmed for the next World of Warcraft expansion, Battle For Azeroth. As datamined late last month, the new Allied races are:

Horde

  • Nightborne
  • Highmountain Tauren
  • Zandalari Trolls

Alliance

  • Lightforged Draenei
  • Void Elves
  • Dark Iron Dwarves

Each of these Allied Races will be unlocked through quests in the expansion, rather than immediately available for character creation. Once they’ve been unlocked, a new Allied Race will start at level 20 and have all of the customization options a new character typically has. Every Allied Race character leveled to max level will also receive a set of Heritage Armor, a race-specific set of armor that can be used for Transmog. Even if you’re a cloth-wearing class, you’ll be able to wear the Dark Iron Dwarf Heritage Armor that looks like mail or plate.

While these six Allied Races are coming with Battle for Azeroth, Ion Hazzikostas noted the feature is only the beginning, with more already planned.
