What do you want to hear out of the Battle for Azeroth Q&A?
Later today, World of Warcraft Game Director Ion Hazzikostas will be sitting down with us to have a chat. Specifically, a chat about Battle for Azeroth — some might even call it a Q&A. Given the recent deluge of datamining and Blizzard’s tendency to use these Q&As to announce something, expectations are pretty high. Expectations for what, exactly? Well, that’s what we’re here to find out.
A lot of people are expecting the stream to end with the announcement that Battle for Azeroth pre-orders are going live right after it ends. This theory is lent more credence thanks to the recently datamined Collector’s Edition goodies. A subset of the people who are expecting pre-orders are also expecting Allied Races to be released as a pre-order bonus. Once again, the wealth of information we have about them from the 7.3.5 PTR alone makes this one fairly likely as well.
Some folks, however, are expecting even more. Will alpha (or beta) be going live this week? It seems like more of a stretch, but not outside the realm of possibility now that 7.3.5 has been out for a couple weeks. But beyond Blizzard announcing anything mentioned above, there’s still a full Q&A that has the potential to drop information on us beforehand.
When it comes to the actual questions being answered, I’m honestly a bit stumped in terms of what to expect to hear — or even what I want to hear. Sometimes the Q&As are genuinely insightful, whereas other times, they can mostly be a repeat of information that’s been out in the wild before. (Not that there’s anything wrong with that, by the way.)
That said, I’d love it if Ion Hazzikostas were willing to tell us what other Allied Races we’ll be getting after Zandalari Trolls and Dark Iron Dwarves. Similarly — though even less likely — a release date (or even window) for the expansion would be a huge but welcome reveal.
How about all of you? What are you expecting from today’s Q&A? What’s something you want, even if it seems less likely to happen?
