What kind of costumes would you like to see from the Overwatch Halloween event?
It’s the most wonderful time of the year! Why? Because the Overwatch Halloween event is right around the corner. I love all of the Halloween events in Blizzard’s games. They offer such a great opportunity for the developers to let their hair down and go wild with haunting designs for our favorite characters. Thanks to Halloween events from years past, we already have a pretty good handle on the movie monster classics. Vampires and mad scientists with their creations have all been introduced in years prior. I don’t think anything is going to make me swap off of Witch Mercy, though. But what are we in for this year?
Artist Azura Lynx created an amazing Sigma mummy costume, that would look right at home in the Temple of Anubis map — or possibly even the museum in Numbani. But what I really want to see is a skin that jumps forward a few decades in the Halloween horror-movie pantheon. I’d love to see some more Sci-Fi/Horror monsters show up. There are tons of great choices like; The Xenomorph from Alien, The Blob from The Blob, or whatever that creature was in The Thing. Imagine how scared you’d be if that Winston that just jumped on you from across the map looked like the Xenomorph. Positively bone-chilling!
On the lighter side of Halloween, it could be really fun to see the characters dressing up like each other. Imagine Tracer wearing the cheapest dollar store costume version of a Mercy costume. Or D.Va going all out and making her MEKA look Hammond’s hamster ball, complete with plush hamster sitting on top! Sure, it might make it a little tougher to get a quick read on who exactly is trying to kill you, but wouldn’t the awesome costumes make up for that?
What are your favorite costumes from the Halloween events? What kind of costumes are you hoping to see this year?
