WRUP: It’s the weekend and Team Blizzard Watch is ready to find some eggs

Hello, friends! We’ve made it to yet another weekend, and that means it’s time for a good ol’ fashioned WRUP — What aRe yoU Playing? — and Team Blizzard Watch is excited to talk about what we’re up to.

Leading us off this week: Joel!

Joel Davis

  • D&D
  • Itch.io bundle randomness

After some D&D madness with the Blizzard Watch crew, I’ll be spending most of the holiday weekend with my folks, so anything I play then will depend on what my laptop can handle. I’ve plenty of unplayed content to explore in the Itch.io bundles I’ve procured for good causes over the last few years. So, we shall see what treasures are to be unearthed while feasting upon black licorice jellybeans and Cadbury Mini Eggs.

Mitch “Mitch” Mitchell

  • ???
  • Elden Ring
  • D&D planning
  • Mario movie?

I have no clue what I’m doing this weekend yet. We have Easter plans, but otherwise, I think we’re trying to keep it chill. I’m sure we will fail, since we regularly discuss several things we’re aiming to do.

Phil Ulrich

  • D&D (probably)
  • Probably going to de-rust and actually do some game development this weekend
  • Pokémon Scarlet

I think I’m playing D&D tomorrow with the BW heist crew, and there’s an online International Challenge in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet so I’ll be knocking out 30 more online matches there. In between that, the creativity bug has struck again and I’ll likely be digging back into development with GameMaker Studio. It’s been too long, gotta shake off some rust.

Nick Marino

  • D&D
  • RE4 (Remake)
  • Dragonflight

It’s been a whirlwind couple of weeks for me, so I haven’t really had any time to play much of anything recently, but this weekend is going to change that (hopefully)!

First up, I’ll be hopping back in to the BlizzardWatch Staff campaign after missing the last session. I consider myself a moderately chaotic character, but I find myself in awe at the creativity of my fellow writers — this ragtag team has no rhyme, minimal reason, and the chaotic energy is dialed up to the max and I hope we haven’t come close to driving Liz off the deep end.

For the rest of the weekend, I’ll devote some time to finishing RE4 which has been enjoyable so far. The game isn’t a 1:1 recreation of the original but most of the changes are narratively minor or are updated environments that expand and build upon the original, recognizable game locations. Finally, with recent news that Dragonflight patch 10.1 is coming in less than a month, I’ll finally jump in to the Dragonflight patch 10.0.7 content and get that finished up so I can be marginally prepared.

Phil Xavier

  • Octopath Traveler 2

At last! I only have one game on my plate, and it’s Octopath Traveler 2. I’m not gonna list Theatrhythm anymore, because I’d be doing it every single week; that one has joined the ranks of games like Hearthstone, Slay the Spire, and Legends of Runeterra, where you can just assume I’m playing them alongside everything else.

But back to Octopath 2: I love Ochette very much, and if anything happens to her I’ll kill everyone in this room and then myself

  • Easter
  • D&D
  • SNAP

This weekend, I’ve got DnD on Friday night with the Blizzard Watch crew and lots of Easter things going on like Good Friday, Easter egg hunts on Saturday and Easter services on Sunday.

My main game continues to be Marvel SNAP. I hit my highest rank ever last season at 78. I loved the recent announcement of WEEKLY balance patches affecting 2 to 4 cards and a free Series 3 card once per season to all players who aren’t Series 3 complete. It seems like they are making some good changes.

Sara Hanson

  • Timewalking
  • PTR item-hunting

It’s a long weekend – which means family and projects around the house time:

  • Driving out country to see my folks for lunch on Good Friday
  • Clearing out the accumulated boxes from the garage and getting rid of all the cardboard
  • Setting up a new desk in my home office – the new set up will have four permanent workstations set up – two work related and two personal, I also need to set up some task lighting and rerun some of the power setup.
  • Cooking a lamb roast with trimmings for Sunday dinner with family and friends.

When that’s all done – I get some time to play.

Renee Lopez

  • Diablo 2 Remastered
  • Dragon Age Inquisition
  • D&D Movie (hopefully)
  • Well of Ascension by Brandon Sanderson
  • Gardening

I’m missing Diablo 4 right now, so I’m going to dive back into D2 Resurrected and see if I can do a little more Ladder fun before the next season starts. I’m at the Expansion quests, so I need to get it done. I will also be getting back to my Dragon Age Inquisition replay. I was making some great progress in the game until I was distracted. Other plans include going to see the D&D movie. With all the good reviews it’s getting, I know it’ll be a good time. Then again, it will never match the cinematic goodness of the first D&D movie with Jeremy Irons. If you never saw it, you absolutely should. I’m currently reading the second book of the Mistborn Saga, and I’m taking my time with it. It’s a good book so far. Then I’m going to do a little gardening. I’m working on replanting some of my vegetable plants and adding wildflowers to the backyard. It’s time-consuming work because I have to remove tons of landscape rocks that the previous owners had. Then Easter is Easter which means having good food with the family and hiding eggs for my daughter.

That’s us for this weekend! What about you? What aRe yoU Playing?
