Blizzard Watch weekly wrap-up: Another busy week in Blizzard games
Blizzard doesn’t do anything by halves: last week we had big releases for three games. Even I have trouble keeping up! So let’s take a minute to look back on what happened last week, and what’s coming next week.
Now live
- Overwatch 2 Season 4 just kicked off and is likely to last about six weeks. We have a rundown of all the rewards on the new Battle Pass (both free and paid) as well as a listing of all of the skins for new hero Lifeweaver — plus some tips on how to play him so you can show off those new skins.
- Overwatch 2 B.O.B. and Weave event. Want to check out Lifeweaver without buying the Battle Pass? Play B.O.B. and Weave: it’s a 3v3 mode where everyone plays as Lifeweaver, and each team uses their Life Grip ability to drag a B.O.B. around the map. The event lasts through April 25.
- Hearthstone’s Festival of Legends expansion is now live, and we have a rundown of what’s on the new Rewards Track, some thoughts on the best new cards, as well as some suggestions on decks to use. A few nerfs have come through since, but this should still give you a start in the new Year of the Wolf.
- Diablo Immortal Season 12 launched, with some nice quality of life changes, including removing the 7-day cooldown on resetting Paragon points. On top of that, the new Season brings the standard new Battle Pass with a fresh set of cosmetics, and two new events, Shady Stock and Into the Dark Wood. If you’re eager for more Diablo while waiting for Diablo 4, it’s worth playing through Diablo Immortal’s story, which covers the time between Diablo 2 and Diablo 3. Just don’t dive into the end-game, which can be costly.
- WoW’s Turbulent Timeways event continues with three more weeks of Timewalking. Warlords of Draenor Timewalking lasts until reset — Tuesday for NA servers, Wednesday for EU servers — and Legion Timewalking runs for the next week. Have fun storming the Broken Isles!
Coming soon
Is this week the quiet week I keep predicting? Maybe, but Blizzard has been surprising me with announcements. Still, for the moment this is all that’s coming up:
- There’s another Diablo 4 developer livestream on Thursday, April 20, at 11am pacific. Expect more details on endgame system as well as updates on game improvements Blizzard has made since the beta.
Other games
- Horizon Forbidden West’s Burning Shores DLC launches on April 19. I’d be more excited about it if I’d had time to finish the game before now, but somehow it’s been a year since launch and I haven’t managed to find the time — and the year is only getting busier for gamers from here, as Star Wars Jedi: Survivor comes the week after.
Diablo 4 countdown
- Just over 7 weeks to go! I can’t help it: I’m counting down. And also last week Matt got me all mixed up by saying Diablo 4 was a month away, so I have to keep track.
And that’s all I have for the past week, but a new week is about to begin. Will next week be a quiet week, as I predict? Or will it be another mad flurry of gaming news? We’ll know soon! Until next time, I wish you all a good week.
