Which World of Warcraft cosmetic do you want to love but just… can’t? (Or: maybe we don’t need to collect everything.)
It’s not an exaggeration to say that I love the color purple. Any shade, hue, or variety — I love them all. Purple is my jam. I was so incredibly excited for the World of Warcraft Twilight Witch’s Attire set that I actually spent Blizzard bucks my own cash on it, because it was perfect for me; my paladin wore that transmog all through February. So imagine my delight at finding the Spring Reveler’s Lavender set in the Trading Post this month.
Watchers… I can’t stand it. And I don’t mean that in the “oh, it’s so cute I could just melt” sense. No. This set offends my personal sensibilities in a way that I didn’t think I could verbalize without insulting someone’s hard work (which is both rude and entirely unnecessary).
And it is 100% okay with me that there is purple in the world I don’t adore.
I don’t have to love everything available through the Trading Post, in-game shop, drops, or achievements. It is truly, completely okay when something just doesn’t hit. It’s a terrible secret, but not everything in this wide, wonderful, vast world was designed with my aesthetic delight in mind, and I am totally okay with that.
There are plenty of things in WoW that I am going to do my level best to obtain (looking at you, Taivan). Each day brings me closer to collecting every Pokémon battle pet available in the game (only 76 left from Dragonflight). Sometimes I look at my collection of mounts, think of the available achievements, and go a-hunting drakes to fly on.
I don’t need to love every bit of cosmetic gear available. It is perfectly fine to pass on this. And who knows — maybe next year it’ll show up in the Trading Post again, and I’ll decide I love it. That’s okay too!
So share in the comments, Watchers: what transmog doesn’t tickle your fancy? Is there a battle pet that’s a total ‘pass’ for you? What World of Warcraft in-game cosmetic have you steered clear of without fear of missing out?
