Blizzard Watch Weekly: It’s always high noon somewhere

It’s been a busy week, with a lot of fresh release dates announced, including WoW patch 12.1, Hearthstone Battlegrounds Season 14, and the Diablo 4 patch 3.2.0 PTR, all of which are imminent. Truly, a great bounty.

But while we wait for the latest content to land, let’s catch up on what’s been going on in the world of Blizzard games, and what’s coming up this week.

What happened last week?

WoW patch 12.1 is officially launching on August 11. Yes, that’s next week. No, I don’t know how that happened either.
Surprise! The World of Warcraft D&D book rumors are true, and you can pre-order now (including a pricey collector’s edition). The book is due out on November 17.
Blizzard has given us our first look at Diablo 4 patch 3.2.0 and Season 15, though it seems like the devs are holding on to seasonal details (and perhaps other secrets) until BlizzCon in September.
The August WoW Trading Post is here, and all I can say is yeehaw. Grab these new looks before the end of the month before they’re gone for good.
Here’s a juicy WoW scandal for you: a GM was caught cheating by helping a streamer time a Mythic +23. It goes about as well as you’d expect.
Hearthstone Battlegrounds Season 14 was announced last week, and it’s already almost here (it launches on Tuesday). It’s going to be a good one, with trinkets sticking around for another season, a new Dark Gift mechanic, and the regular minion shakeup.
This week’s Hearthstone Tavern Brawl is Underdog Rules, an oldie but a (sort of) goodie. Every turn, the player with the least health gets a completely random minion. Will the RNG gods favor you, or will you suffer continual 1/1s? Either way, keep playing and eventually you’ll get your free pack.
Turbulent Timeways continues in World of Warcraft with one more week of Timewalking. The Burning Crusade Timewalking is available through reset, and Dragonflight Timewalking starts on Tuesday.
