The Queue: You can’t fight fate
Unless it’s your destiny to fight fate, then you can’t not fight it.
My guild bopped our way through Heroic Fated Castle Nathria this week. It was just like riding a bike! Sort of. We had some trial and error, and the new Fated affixes made a couple of the fights interesting, especially the Sun King fight. Having a thing pop out that puts shields on every enemy in the encounter really messed with some of our timings. We also ran into a situation on Sire Denathrius where the new Fated creation that needs to be interrupted spawned right as we were being pulled down into the second phase of the fight.
It didn’t come with us. Turns out it can still hit you with its cast from all the way up on the top floor.
Other than that it wasn’t too bad! I like getting to see the content again in a new way for these few months while we wait for Dragonflight to come out.
While I go polish up on our boss strategies for Sanctum of Domination, it’s time for — The Queue.
What makes your favorite tier set better than all the others?
The Queue: Time flies like an arrow
Fruit flies like a banana!
I couldn’t resist.
Yesterday was my four-year anniversary with Blizzard Watch!! I can’t believe it’s been so long! I’ve almost gotten to cover three expansions of Warcraft for y’all, not to mention all of the other Blizzard games updates that have come out over that period. I look forward to getting some time off from the day job soon so I can actually get my fingers into the Dragonflight alpha, and the upcoming season four in Shadowlands.
I also need to start clearing space on a shelf somewhere for my five-year sword, which is something that I definitely am assuming that the site will provide for me…
While I check my contract again, it’s time for — The Queue.
The Queue: Faire Food
I’ve been working stages at the local carnival this last weekend (and all of the rest of the upcoming week) and boy is faire food both enticing and absolutely disgusting sounding.
Of course, I want to eat things deep-fried that shouldn’t be. Do I want to eat the pop rocks-covered fried chicken, maybe not…
I’m sure that I’ll eat my weight in mini-doughnuts before the end of the carnival though.
While I look into bigger pants, it’s time for — The Queue!
The Queue: Heroes of the Storm
In case you missed it, last week Blizzard finally confirmed that Heroes of the Storm would be entering maintenance mode. No new content would be created for it, and the only updates going forward would be to squash any technical issues.
This isn’t exactly shocking, Heroes had been on life support for a long time ever since the cancellation of the official esports scene. The latest hero they released was Hogger, and he came out nearly two years ago! Still, it’s a blow for the dedicated fans of the game.
I don’t know what it was about Heroes that really set it apart for me from all of the other Blizzard games. Maybe it was that I had moments of halfway competent play in it, maybe the smaller community always made it feel like an underdog to root for — maybe it was just that I really love Blizzard’s characters and seeing them get to interact with each other and try on each other’s universes for a moment was just really fun. Whatever the reason, I’m pretty bummed that there won’t be more — it was and will continue to be my absolute favorite Blizzard game.
That won’t stop me from still logging in and playing games though.
As long as Blizzard keeps those servers going I’ll still see you in the Nexus.
While I queue for another ARAM match, it’s time for — The Queue.
The Queue: Long weekend
Here’s to the long weekend! I hope that it was full of good times and relaxation if you got one. Mine was until I had to go to work — so rude.
While I work on getting the winning set of lottery numbers, it’s time for — The Queue.
The Queue: The Ice Stone has Melted
It’s so hot outside.
How hot is it you ask? It’s so hot, that I can’t even think of a good punchline to that setup. We’re still getting rain a lot where I am, but when the sun comes out — oh boy does it come out. Good thing that I have a nice cool basement to do my writing from or all this Queue would be is pictures of ice cream.
While I look into whether or not Liz would fire me for an all ice cream picture Queue, it’s time for — The Queue (non-dairy edition)
The Queue: Where’s the Curve?
Oh, that’s right, it’s behind me!
I could finally line up with my raid team to get Ahead of the Curve for the Jailer. It turns out that having a job that isn’t the usual 9-5 can make it hard to make a raid sometimes! How rude!!
It also turns out that when you can get your whole raid through the first phase without anyone falling into a hole, or getting mind-controlled by the Jailer — it gets a lot easier to do the next two phases, who knew! Armed with this new knowledge I’m sure that we’ll be a Race to World First contender in no time.
While I start practicing my victory speech, it’s time for — The Queue.
The Queue: Surprise weekend!
Surprise weekend in that there were a ton of surprise announcements over the weekend, not possibly better surprise couple of days off work to go and relax.
Overwatch 2 gets a release date and they confirmed the Junker Queen. Which is a character that I’ve been hoping would be rad since they teased her back in the Junkrat video. Still holding out hope for our good friend Jetpack Cat though.
Diablo 4 also got that sweet Necromancer confirmation and some more details. When I played it back at BlizzCon 2019 it felt really solid. The Necromancer is probably the only class that could make me waver in my Druid choice though. I’m going have some tough decisions when it eventually comes out.
While I make a giant spreadsheet of pros and cons about Druids and Necromancers, it’s time for — The Queue.
