The Queue: I can’t wait for my BC clownsuit
What you are looking at in the header image is an accurate recreation of what a leveling Warrior (or Paladin) would likely have been wearing by about level 67 or so during The Burning Crusade.
Most of it is quest gear, although the weapon is a dungeon drop. And yes, it really did look that bad.
The Queue: Yes or no?
In a look behind the curtain, one thing I learned very early on making content — even as far back as actual writing school — is to never lead with a question which could be answered with a simple yes or no, because that’s all you’ll get, and you’ll have to work to get the person you’re questioning to elaborate further with follow-ups. We do this every day with our Discussion Topic. You’ll also see this in action on social media with questions that go viral. It’s never, “did you like Catcher in the Rye,” it’s always, “what was the worst book you had to read in school?” Which, by the way, it was Catcher in the Rye.
This is The Queue, where you ask us questions and we definitely aren’t jerks about answering them.
The Queue: Shiny rock on a stick
It’s more than just a rock on a stick. It’s a shiny rock on a stick! That’s where the real power comes from.
On a side note, it’s tough to build a purple and crystally themed set of leather armor in World of Warcraft. There’s plenty of purples, but very little crystal stuff out there. Kyrian’s have a set that would work, but then I’d have to go join up with them, and no way am I turning my back on my buddies in Revendreth.
While I keep searching my bags for the perfect gear, it’s time for — The Queue.
The Queue: Back to the Burning Crusade
I lost interest in WoW Classic pretty early on. I’ve been there and I’ve done that and I decided I didn’t feel I needed to put myself through it again. But Burning Crusade Classic? I had so many good times back then. I loved Karazhan. I thoroughly enjoyed the design of Holy Paladins, who weren’t good at a lot of things, but were excellent single-target healers who never ran out of mana and basically could not be killed. (Today healers are very homogenized and it doesn’t feel like anyone is tremendously good at anything.) My main right now is the same main I had in TBC.
A couple of days ago I went into some TBC raids to grab some screenshots for an article, and I wound up getting the last key pieces of what used to be the gear set I wore in TBC. I sold that gear well before transmog came around, so the appearances had been lost to time. I rushed to the transmog vendor and I put on that appearance and the wave of delight that washed over me is hard to explain.
Now I’m thinking that even though I didn’t have time for Classic, I might have time for TBC Classic. Or I might have to find the time.
Wow, that was a long intro. Let’s Queue, people.
The Queue: Spacing out
I’ve now done all of the Cyberpunk 2077 endings. My canon one for my V is the one with the Aldecaldos, but I like them all, except the really sad one. You’ll know which one if you’ve played it. Anyway, here’s V in space.
So, what’re y’all up to?
The Queue: Yep, still playing Cyberpunk
I’ve done two of the five (or six? I hear conflicting things) endings so far and I’m working on a third, just to get to see them, before going back to completing the entire world, which is going to take me a very long time. I just found Johnny’s old car, which was fun.
Anyway, it’s the Queue, and I’m wondering if Diablo 2: Resurrected will be out by my birthday. Since that’s in December, I hope so.
The Queue: Look at that view
A few weeks ago, No Man’s Sky released a free patch containing companion animals (including a whole slew of mechanics like breeding) and I’ve never been more glad I’ve put off buying a game in my life. After the initial buzz was wildly, wildly negative, I was really wary, but the exploration aspects alone are incredible. This screenshot was taken on a world which was labelled as “rapidly disintegrating,” signified on the ground by a lot of volcanic activity and high temperatures. I spent a lot of time here mining and trying to save wildlife, bringing them back to my base on a Paradise planet. The ones that adapted to the volcanic activity aren’t happy about it.
This is The Queue, where you ask us questions, and the WoW servers are down for extended maintenance so we may as well answer.
The Queue: Spring forward
The Bronze Dragons are at it again! Stealing time from us and causing untold mischief across the land. Maybe someday we’ll figure out a way to truly save daylight once and for all, but until then we’ll just have to put up with their chronal shenanigans. At least the time on my microwave is finally correct again.
Wait, didn’t I say this last year? I’m getting the strangest sense of deja Queue…
The Queue: Many whelps, where whelps are a metaphor for life’s problems
It’s been a long day, a long week, a long month, a long year. Many whelps, handle it.
Let’s Queue.
The Queue: Darkness is our natural home
It’s not my usual jam, but Mitch can’t be here today so I wanted to try and make y’all feel at home.
It’s the Queue. Only through the embrace of total madness can we make sense of a world that does not care that we exist.
Was that too much? I’m trying here.
