Blizzard will consider the possibility of another Warcraft RTS game after Starcraft 2

It's been twelve years since a new installment of the Warcraft series from the top-down RTS perspective.  Not surprising, of course -- it's long been the accepted and stated wisdom that World of Warcraft provides pretty much all of the Warcraft the company wants.  But it turns out that Blizzard isn't quite so dead set on closing that door after all, as Starcraft 2 producer Tim Morten outright stated at Gamescom that the team will be sitting down and discussing the possibility of a Warcraft RTS following the release of Legacy of the Void.

World of Warcraft and minigame micromanagement

I'm on record, when we saw the introduction of pet battles, as saying 'Well, this isn't content I care about, but it's good for people who like it' because pet battles are utterly optional. The various rewards you get for pet battles only affect the pet battle minigame itself - stones and other rewards that affect the pets and how they level. There's never a reason to play pet battles if you don't enjoy the gameplay - you're never forced to do it, nor do you even feel forced to. I can say this having utterly ignored pet battles since their introduction.

When the opening came, she took it, becoming the latest Warlord of the Burning Blade and immediately setting to work to try and seal her place as the best and the brightest of the Iron Horde. And it worked, to a degree -- Azuka Bladefury may have had to prove her worth in a collection of more notable names like Blackhand or Kargath Bladefist, but she did so with swift and unerring efficiency.
