When writing about gearing up a new alt in World of Warcraft right now, there are several things to keep in mind besides how you do it as quickly as possible in theory.

I'm asking this because I just dusted off my level-120 Death Knight -- the first character I leveled to 120 and promptly abandoned for my Warrior because I'm me -- and, wow, was that painful.

Ever since the concept of Corrupted items was introduced, I've been thinking about the sheer level of RNG it adds into gearing in World of Warcraft.

So we found out we're getting a bump to World Quest gear in order to help people gearing up for Raid Finder Crucible of Storms, and that has me thinking back to the days of running endless Heroic dungeons in The Burning Crusade for Badges in order to buy gear that was as good as what dropped in raids.
