What archetype from previous Diablo games do you want to see return in Diablo 4?

Diablo 3 Seasonal Hardcore Witch Doctor

I started thinking about this when Liz Harper first mentioned wanting to see Amazons in Diablo 4 because she hadn’t seen that particular archetype combining ranged and melee play in Diablo 3. This got me thinking about how certain playstyles from the previous games will be represented — the melee-focused rampaging of the Barbarian, the shapeshifting and natural power of the Druid, and the Sorcerer’s explosive elemental assault. But what about the reckless, close-quarters Assassin? Or did you prefer your martial arts mayhem a little less murdery and instead prefer the Monk take the role again?

Sometimes I wonder if we’ll ever see the return of the original Warrior class from Diablo, using heavy armor and weapons, but I won’t pretend I’d prefer it to the Barbarian. Some might, however. And while I personally never really played it much, there are Witch Doctor devotees out there who feel like they got shortchanged by the game, and there’s the evergreen Paladin/Crusader discussion — either flavor of holy warrior could well work in the newest offering in the Diablo franchise. Indeed, part of me hopes they decide to just open the floodgates and bring back eight or even ten classes for players to choose between, but I don’t expect it — as much as I’d love to see Rogues, Amazons, and Demon Hunters all with a distinctive play style in Diablo 4, I don’t think we’re going to.

So, since there will likely be only five or so classes and we already know three of them, what archetype do we most need to see? A holy warrior? A mix of range and melee like the Amazon? A stealth assassin, a poisonous pet class, a jack-of-all trades character that does everything like the Bard from the original Diablo expansion, Hellfire? That’s right, guys, the Bard, I went there. What archetype would you most want to see in Diablo 4?
