What was your favorite BlizzConline “oh my Yogg” moment?

I’ll go first: Diablo 4’s Rogue. Thanks for reading!

Wait, I’ve just been informed that you actually want to read something. What insanity is this? Don’t you know we just had a BlizzCon, people? Yes, it was BlizzConline from the comfort of our homes; still, I need to sleep for the next however many days until the next BlizzCon! Okay, fine, let’s talk announcements and my top three “I think my heart stopped” moments. If you haven’t caught up on the weekend’s news yet… well, I’m sorry because the spoilers are real.

First up is actually not the Diablo 4 Rogue (don’t worry, we’ll get to her); it’s from the World of Warcraft patch 9.1 Chains of Domination cinematic, “Kingsmourne.” We don’t see Arthas Anduin head-on until he is speaking directly to the Archon. Now, I avoided the accidental spoilers before BlizzConline, so the expression on the King of Stormwind’s face as he speaks of menacingly of Kyrestia possessing a key he needs utterly chilled me.

The next was not actually due to announcement content, per se. No, my silent gasp came at hearing the narrator in the cinematic for the next Hearthstone trailer. You see, we are treated to the voice of Saurfang as he expounds on the strengths necessary to survive the Barrens.  Saurfang, who we last saw falling in mak’gora to Sylvanas Windrunner. And while their cinematics is always amazing, this fallen warrior’s inclusion totally had me feeling all the feels.

And now, my absolute favorite moment of heart-stoppage from the BlizzConline — the announcement for the Rogue class in Diablo 4. Yes, the ominous music starts less than a minute into the cinematic, but it wasn’t until that first ear comes out of the pouch and onto the rail that all the air in the room disappeared for me. I think I actually started breathing again with the sound of Akarat’s priest popping an ear onto a hook at the very end of the video. So gruesome. So utterly dark and perfect for the aesthetic they’re building around D4.

Now it’s my favorite time to ask — how about you? Were you growing faint at the sound of Illidan’s voice as the Dark Portal appears in the distance for The Burning Crusade Classic? Did high-definition Mephisto and Diablo from the D2 Resurrected chill your soul? Or did something else entirely steal your breath? Let us know in the comments!
