How to sign up for World of Warcraft Cataclysm Classic beta test — now live!
We’re gearing up for the release of Cataclysm Classic this year, and the first step is the beta test which is now live, with invites going out to the first round of testers. But if you want to test drive the latest iteration of WoW Classic. here’s how you sign up for the WoW Cataclysm Classic beta.
Luckily, the Cataclysm Classic beta a straightforward opt-in:
- Go to the official WoW Classic website
- Click the large “Beta Opt-In” button at the top of the page
- Click the “Request Beta Access” button when it pops up
- You’ll be asked into your Battle.Net account if you aren’t already
…and voila! You’ll get this message:
Thanks for opting in! If selected, you’ll receive an email from us.
That’s all you need to do. Previously, all beta opt-ins were centralized as part of your Battle.et account, which also captured system information for Blizzard to use to select participants. This version is a bit more manual, but it also helps Blizzard prioritize players who want to beta-test specific titles.
Honestly, the most important part of this process is not falling for the variety of beta scams that exist everywhere. You may see social media posts advertising beta keys, emails from ‘bilzardentretainment’ with a login link, or suggestions to ping Blizzard Customer Service — it’s all fake. Check your Battle.Net launcher; the beta client will appear under the World of Warcraft Classic page under the Version dropdown, same as the PTR clients.
So in short, you sign up for the Cataclysm Classic beta by heading over to the official WoW Classic page and opting-in to show your interest in beta testing. Cataclysm Classic will feature a faster content cadence, improved leveling experience, expanded Collections UI, and more! Get ready, because Deathwing comes to the Classic timeline in 2024.
