How to sign up for World of Warcraft: The War Within beta test

Are you ready to experience The War Within, the tenth expansion of World of Warcraft and the first chapter in the three-expansion arc called the Worldsoul Saga? Me too! And with the beta test starting on June 5, you’ll want to sign up for the War Within beta now.

So how do you get access to the beta test? Signing up for the beta easy! To register:

  • Go to Blizzard’s War Within beta signup page
  • Click the button labeled “Sign Up!”
  • You’ll be directed to a Battle.net login page (if not signed in on that browser)
  • Once you’re signed in, select “Request Beta Access,” after which you should get the message “Thanks for opting in! If selected, you’ll receive an email from us.”

Now it’s just a matter of patiently waiting.

Anyone who pre-purchased the Epic Edition of The War Within from the Battle.net Shop will automatically have beta access (as well as early release access), so there’s no need to sign up. The beta starts on June 5, but the early release access date is subject to change.

But there is no purchase required to get beta access, so beware of suspicious emails asking for you to buy something or provide personal information — this is likely a scam! If you get access, you will receive an email notification from Blizzard directing you to download the beta client from Battle.net — but it shouldn’t ask for anything else. To see if you have access to the beta test, open the Battle.net launcher and check the version dropdown under the World of Warcraft tab, exactly where you would see PTR clients.

If you’re sure you should have access but don’t see it here, try restarting the launcher, but do not click links in emails, text messages, or social media — even if they seem legit. The Battle.net launcher is the only place you can get the beta client.

The War Within is bringing some incredible new features, such as Delves, Warbands, Hero Talents, and more, set against the backdrop of Khaz Algar. If you’re ready and raring to dive in, head over to the official WoW site for the beta sign-up button. Testing starts in the first half of 2024!
