Only one month to go! Here’s the fastest way to level in WoW Remix: Mists of Pandaria

Playing Mists of Pandaria

Gaining a new level may be one of the most satisfying parts of playing World of Warcraft. And that, of course, means that we want to get more levels, and fast. Fortunately in WoW Remix, the levels flow like water, making it easy to speed to max level. And if you’re looking to earn some last-minute bronze, speed-leveling characters is the fastest way to do it.

But for some of us, leveling “fast” isn’t good enough. We want a torrent of levels, as fast as possible! So let’s talk about how to level fast in WoW Remix: Mists of Pandaria.

The secret, as with most things timerunning, is in your cloak. In this case, the Cloak of Infinite Potential that we all get shortly after starting ReMists. As you play, you’ll earn threads that increase the power of your cloak — and one type of thread increases your experience gains! Granted, you can’t control which threads you earn from most sources, but threads are very common, so you’ll be picking up XP boosting threads as you go. Ideally, from a speed-leveling perspective, you want to participate in activities that reward both lots of experience and lots of threads, double-dipping those sweet, sweet experience points. And what would those activities be, you ask?

The answer, dear reader, is raids. Not LFR, mind you, as those were nerfed pretty heavily coming out of the PTR, but Normal difficulty raids. Not only do the bosses in these raids drop hefty sacks of bonus experience, but each and every one drops an Infinite Thread of Experience, permanently increasing your cloak’s experience gain by a whopping 12%. And all that is on top of the normal pile of gear, gems, and Bronze that you’ll find from an instance boss in WoW Remix. Think you’re too low level? Worry not! Mogu’shan Vaults opens at a mere level 25, and because of the funky way that scaling works in timerunning instances, low-level players are in high demand by virtue of being incredibly overpowered when in groups. And best of all, timerunning raids are only on a daily lockout, so you can rack up that experience every day.

If raids aren’t your thing, then Heroic dungeons are a good fallback. They don’t reward those delicious guaranteed 12% experience threads, but the bonus experience per boss is pretty good, there are still a bunch of drops per boss, and the dungeons themselves are fast with even a semi-competent pickup group. Just make sure you kill everything for the maximum chance for thread drops. Even if you’re doing raids, you’ll still want to run Heroic dungeons, as the achievement for completing all of them rewards one of the precious few jewelry pieces available in timerunning.

If you really want to maximize your leveling speed, there’s one more thing you can do, though it’s a little fiddly: do not pick up the bonus experience you get from dungeon and raid bosses. That’s a little counter-intuitive, I know, but there’s a method to the madness. The idea is that you want to save those big chunks of experience until you have the biggest possible buff from your cloak. By just leaving all your loot on the floor, the Postmaster will helpfully send it all to your mailbox for you to collect later. You can use a mod like Remix Mail Helper to selectively pick out your gems and threads while leaving the bonus experience safe for later. By spamming Heroic dungeons, with a detour into each Normal raid as soon as you qualify, and saving your bonus experience in this fashion, you should be able to skyrocket from level 10 to level 70 in a matter of mere hours.

With a good cloak buff and all the bonus experience from the bosses, you should be able to earn multiple levels per raid or Heroic instance, powering your way toward the level cap at blinding speed. Do you have a better way to speed-level your way through Mists of Pandaria? Tell us about it in the comments!
